1.can't compete even in the Patriot League if you don't recruit and develop bigs. No chance at all in OOC games. 2.hard to score with a 2 man offense. Thank God for Luc. Need to recruit better shooters. We need athletes, smart BB players who can also shoot well. 3.suspect roster will turn over again as under played players will look for better opportunities. Ok with me until we get a better coach and better players. The current product is unacceptable. KOT 72 During the three game winning streak, offense seemed to be manufactured out of energy, enthusiasm, quickness and defense. It looked like a continuation vs Colgate. Then Malcolm got hurt and CU started hitting threes way more easily than most of our competition has. They can get back on track. They lost a lot of "glue" when MT went out.

Townsel hopped off on one foot and never returned. He may be out for a while. Colgate had far too many wide open threes and I don’t think that many came on breaks. You just can’t let a team like them get so many good looks at the hoop.

There's been a long dry spell since HC had a true Big. Tim Clifford was the last one that comes to mind.

The whole atmosphere and presentation of these games on ESPN+ is poor for D1. Colors are all off, gyms are usually empty, commentators are goofy. The fans of my middle school team rock the gym more than the fans at some of these games. Must be hard to get amped up to play in places like this after an 8 hour + bus ride and with academic challenges back in Worcester breathing down your neck. I don’t expect Cameron level stuff but I feel bad for a lot of these PL players. Many of these guys were among the best players to ever play at their high schools and in their states. Those degrees and that tuition payment must really mean a lot to justify the sacrifices they make. Five hour bus rides from the middle of nowhere, Lewisburg and Hamilton, in the middle of the night, must be special. I hope both the men and women squads are flying back and forth to the games in the DC area. If they are busing it for 8 hours, they really have my sympathies.

Nate Lufkin could swat a few away and Eric Obeysekere could sky for a few boards.

Gray would be nice for a change of pace. Black sucks, especially when on TV one cannot detect any purple whatsoever. How about we just have two uniforms. Some of these uniforms and courts as well, look ridiculous. Take a look at at a game at Oregon, Memphis or TCU to see what I mean. Cal State Northridge?

You just can’t let a team like them get so many good looks at the hoop. Conversely - Colgate seemed to be ok with Luc going off, but were determined to shut down the secondary guys. Unlike the last few games, the drives to the hoop (except for KL) were few and far between. I have to give the Raiders (their veteran players and coach) some credit for that.

Not sure if my second paragraph points towards Lewis' inabilities or Nelson's (If a guy plays the same position as another guy and the other guy is stinking the joint out, why not give the second person a try). I think unless there is some underlying injury, the theory that he's waiting to leave is pretty spot on. If you're in a tight game and a player needs more seasoning, I totally agree with the DNP-CD. If you're getting blown out, give the kids on the end of the bench a chance. No one cares if you lose by 25 or 40. I think any comparisons to Ciaran Sandy is a poor analogy. Sandy played in zero games. Lewis has played about 40 minutes over 6 games. He's not hurt so there's no medical redshirt. Is there some number of games you are allowed to play in and still maintain eligibility without a medical reason? Unless there is something medical going on, no reason not to use Lewis some even if he is biding his time for a move. Unlike Sandy, Coach Nelson recruited Lewis. He thought enough of this kid to go out and recruit him. I would want a darn good reason to expedite his way out the door. Maybe Coach Nelson has changes his approach on transfers. Two years ago, two players let him know before the season was over that they would be entering the portal. They disappeared from the team. Taking the fact that Lewis sits on the bench during blowouts in a poor season and inferring that Lewis is waiting to leave is a pretty big logical leap. It might be true, but it's not the first conclusion I would jump to And yet another example of speculation in absence of having access to any kind of basic updates regarding the team. In other days "How's Lewis doing?" would have been asked at a Hoops Hospitality, or in a pregame interview with the late great Bob F. (or Dick L).

Or in a post game ESPN+ coach interview that many of our opponents hold when they are at home and control the broadcast.

That one is on athletics. I used to think it was an ESPN+ thing, but if our PL peers can have a post game interview, HC should do the same

Colgate comes back to Earth tonight at home in a 16 point win over Lehigh. They made 4 of 16 from deep. What is it about HC that brings out their best. Their regulars were 12-17 against us two nights ago.

There are bumps along the way in a HC Basketball season. Let’s hope that next season the road will be smooth!

The bandwagon has probably turned the corner but I'm still on the other street trying to catch up to the rest of you. Give me 3 or 4 more wins before I think I'll be able to jump on board.
