I was going to say "Road trip," but then I realized it is about 800 miles. I am going to need HC70 to pick me up at the nearest airport.

fbschedules.com/miami-redhawks-add-holy-cross-to-2026-football-schedule/Miami (Ohio) is the second scheduled non-conference opponent for Holy Cross for the 2026 season. The Crusaders are also scheduled to host the Yale Bulldogs that season on Sept. 19. Holy Cross now has five future games scheduled against Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponents. The Crusaders are slated to play at Buffalo in 2022, at Boston College in 2023, at Northern Illinois in 2025, and at San Jose State in 2029, in addition to the newly scheduled game at Miami in 2026.

Supposed to be a very nice college town and campus. Beautiful school. Great school academically as well. Will get a large Midwest HC contingent at that one. Great for recruiting the Midwest. Home of Ben Rothlisburger. (sorry for the misspelling).

My next door neighbor is a Miami grad and the school does have a well-deserved positive reputation in the Midwest. Of course it is known as the "Cradle of Coaches"

Nice addition to the football schedule. I am sure Kit knows all the MAC AD's and could schedule accordingly.
How about lining up BC, Syracuse, Army, Navy, Air Force (with Nate Pine), Rice, Tulane, William & Mary, Richmond in alternating years. Drop CCSU from future schedules. These are realistic challenge games for Chesney's troops. Sprinkle in UMass & UConn as well. Duke, Wake Forest & Stanford would be great venues to visit as well. Guarantee money from the FBS games certainly help the budget and excite the alumni.
Go Cross ! It has been an awesome week for Holy Cross football.

I love the Tulane recommendation. Daughter #2 went there but that is not a factor. It's a great school, strong academics, with a new football stadium and it's in New Orleans, a fantastic city. I could see HC bringing a nice contingent of fans there and, perhaps most importantly, we'd have a chance to win

MAC games are the perfect fix for what we are trying to accomplish with our program.

Looks like I might be making another trip back to the homestead in Ohio but as my late mother used to say "I could be dead by then."

Gotta throw in that Ara Parseghian graduated from Miami OH and also coached there (his first year at ND, '64 was also my first - he inherited a 2-7 team and improved it to 9-1).

Some here have stated that our coach doesn’t favor power 5 schools but I believe we should play BC at least once in player’s time at HC -

It's another smart move for HC because these are winnable FBS games, much like UConn was. Other than the paycheck, there's not much to be gained by playing Nebraska or Stanford by the five other PL schools who get FBS offers. It also locks in future schedules so you're not needing to fill three or four open dates for an upcoming season.
