Don’t have it now but second chance points and free throws seemed to be the key. Of course Caleb’s blocks and key rebounds didn’t hurt either.

Another gutsy win....Didn't play a great game...But prevailed.....500 in the league! Team showed some toughness, made free throws when neededGetting to be a habit.
1. Shot under 40 % from the field vs. Bucknell, but 18-21 from the line (+8 in a six-point win).
2. +4 at the line vs. Loyola (in a four point win)
3. Shot under 40% from the field vs. Army, but 21-26 from the line (+7 in a four-point win)
4. Shot barely 40% vs. Lehigh, but 15-20 from the line (+1 in a two point win).
In the last five wins, Holy Cross has gone 71-93 (76%) from the stripe and a cumulative +20 - in games we've won by a total of 21 points.

When they get inside and draw fouls they win it at the charity stripe. Makes up for lower percentage 2 and 3 pt shots. Nice win. Further confidence builder. Go cross

Kenney getting 36 minutes on the floor ! never thought I'd see it - but he deserves it ! Filling a role perfectly And speaking of other defensive stoppers (has this been posted elsewhere ?) Malcolm Townsel is out for the year with the knee injury sustained at Colgate - that's a loss for sure

Don’t have it now but second chance points and free throws seemed to be the key. Second chance points - HC, 20-4.
We had ten more field goal attempts than the Bison, in large part due to a 13-5 advantage on the offensive glass.

Signs of mental toughness :
- not quitting after zero D1 OOC wins. - taking opponents punches in 2nd halves and not folding - bouncing back after getting smoked at ‘gate - late game foul shooting

Bucknell had 1 more field goal than HC.....HC was 18 for 21 from the line, Bucknell 10-16...HC had 13 offensive rebounds!!! to Bucknells 5. HC shot 39% from the floor to the Bison's 47%.. Sounds like a great game to me

Not much to not like, aside from some mental mistakes defensively while protecting the lead in the final minute -- couple bad fouls + Gates getting lucky that inbounding the ball to Bo right under the basket didn't end in disaster. Another close road win -- huge effort to get to 5 out of 6 and we're now 1/2 game out of FOURTH.
We're a legit low-major team now. Is that an oximoron?
Gates has been the glue of this team. He looked a bit checked out and maybe not in prime game shape early in the season. Clearly, he's a leader on the court now down the stretch. I haven't seen this much positive energy since "five games in March".

More work pre and post practice? Getting it in the right players’ hands? Better legs? Confidence? All of the above? Whatever the reason, our improvement at the stripe has been instrumental in our recent success.

14 assists (on 26 FGs) has to be one of our better efforts of the season. Luc had 6, his best of the year

If we’re not careful, we’re getting dangerously close to being a tough, well-coached team!
Another stat that jumped out to me: we came away with 83% of our defensive rebounding opportunities — 2nd best performance of the year.
4th game in 8 days, on the road for a 5+ hour bus trip, 83% of our minutes played by Freshmen & Sophomore — only 9 turnovers.
A must-win game on Monday! Go Cross Go!!

We are finally becoming a team and understanding what it takes to win. We still have a way to go to be a winning program, but players and coaches deserve some applause.
and this may be a first that I don’t totally disagree with bbc

While I’m not sold on his vision, you can’t argue with his recent success. Hope it continues.

How does Bucknell allow this clown to call games? I officially can't take any more of this. So unprofessional, it's "freshman calling game on university radio station" level embarrassing. Thank goodness I had the game on mute during most of it. Did hear his ode to 4-acre, which was nice.

Don’t mean to nitpick, but did it really “take them a while to buy in/adapt to his philosophy” or did it take a totally normal/reasonable amount of time for a team whose core is a group of Sophomores who had to deal with significant COVID impacts in their Frosh year, and are now in the 2nd half of conference play in their first full D1 season?

It seems BN has brought in a good core. Rebuilding this program is at a very early stage and will take time to develop a winning, championship vibe. Experience & future" drafts" should help build momentum. We have every right to expect nothing less than success.

If we can convince Gates to come back next year, with Will Batchelder, who is similarly ranked to Kyrell Luc on NERR, coming on board, as well as some other potential spring addition(s) (key note: Gates, Bo, Louth, and Dorsey were all spring additions), the pL runs through Worcester next year IMHO.
