Has anyone heard if the assistants were taken care of with Coach Chesney signing his new deal? Hoping they were as the program is in incredible shape and we have some very dedicated and talented coaches (Vaganek, Gilcrist, Canan etc.) who have had a tremendous impact on the players as well as the success the program has had. Happy for Coach Chesney and well earned, hoping the same happens for the assistants!

I heard at the end of the year that he got some money to spread around to his assistants 100,000 at least.

For the 2021 season, Chris Smith was the OL coach, the run-game coordinator, and the recruiting coordinator. The QB coach was the offensive coordicator.
I would assume that if Chris becomes the offensive coordinator, he would continue as OL coach. I wonder if he will continue as recruiting coordinator, because that would be a real heavy load for one man. I'm guessing we will have a new recruiting coordinator.

Very cool video, very outrageous football coach line in the middle of the tweet:

Ithaca actually had a very good 2021 season, only losing two games by a total of four points. Three to RPI and One to Cortland State. Traditionally, it has been a strong D3 program. athletics.ithaca.edu/sports/2005/4/12/fballhistory.aspxBased on the video, and the overwhelming enthusiasm displayed, Coach T must have had some strong friendships and left a very positive impression before he departed for Mt.St.James.

Ithaca has one of the top multimedia undergraduate programs in the country. I wouldn't expect them to not put a ton of videos out all the time.

Interesting in 2019, Ithaca vs Cortland outdrew (45,161) Holy Cross for the ENTIRE 2021 season (42,937) at Fitton.

No, what’s interesting is that you would compare a pre-CoVID, one-time event, held 200 miles from either school’s campus at MetLife Stadium, to a “regular”, still involving CoVID protocols, season. Interesting, but not surprising.

Foley used to kick his dog when frustrated, but his parole officer found out and told him to knock it off so now, for reasons known only to him and his pet ferret "Wildcat", he stays up all night thinking of ways to criticize HC.

Coach Smith has updated his twitter profile to reflect his promotion to OC. Change hasn’t been formally made on the athletics website yet.

Congrats to Coach Toerper. Ithaca is usually one of the top D3 programs in the Northeast.
How Chesney replaces these coaching departures will be key to maintaining success. As long as the Crusaders keep rolling this will happen.

What a weird guy Foley is.
How much real estate does our modest athletic program have in his head?
Foley, were you rejected by HC? Did not receive media credentials on time? Coffee cold in the media room?

He's still bent no spread for the humungous lax photog throng and that he had to walk 100 yards to take a leak.

At some point the departures of assistants will have a negative effect of the program as a whole. I don’t think we have reached that point now, but it’s not ideal to be searching for new position coaches less than a month before the start of spring practice.
