BU has no Childs, Esposito, or Weimar. All players that have played big roles and/or started. HUGE opportunity for Cross tonight. Boy, that is a huge loss. Two regular starters and another part-time starter. Did they say why they are out? Childs has been out since early January, don't know about the other 2

Outscored 43-18 in periods 2 and 3 - considering BU's injuries that's disappointing - really looking inept on offense

Giannaros should be on the all rookie team. I'm sure she will be. The top two, who will battle for ROY, are Lex Therien and Cecelia Collins. Then the next two are likely Giannaros and Golembiewski. Antagnoli of Lafayette will get some votes as well.

Two regular starters and another part-time starter. Did they say why they are out? BU did not elaborate. Weimar's return is imminent though. Riley has had the injured hand awhile now. Esposito....since she's "not with the team" as the announcers said, is either in COVID protocols (which some teams keep private) or there is an issue that is non-injury/illness related.

Pretty solid thrashing, I think that preseason poll was a little more acurrate than we'd like. Still in good position to get a home playoff game, other than the 2nd BU game, the schedule is favorable, Navy @ home, Colgate & Army on the road.

lack of athleticism is so obvious and painful - we could not get a decent shot out of our offense - coach M has some work ahead of her

Lack of athleticism has been apparent to HC women’s basketball for the last twenty years. The have been exceptions, but unfortunately too few to build a consistent winning program.
Hope in the future the recruiting net is cast far and wide for the team to succeed.
Coach M has done a very good job this year with the players she has inherited. They seem to have been coached up. However I am concerned about the lack of playing time for the current freshmen class. A lot of work will be needed to have them step up for 2022-2023.

I was at BU on Wednesday and interesting that HC doesn't have a branded bus like many D-1 and D-3 schools have...you would think with such a great alumni network someone would have donated to have one done.

The team seems to have hit a wall. Simple as that. Not executing and the energy level has dropped considerably.
Hope it's temporary.

Isn't it strange that foley would come to that conclusion, considering HC has had a colorful bus for many years. Anyone who travels to away games sees it, including AWP a few weeks ago

Foley rarely uses any logic.

HC has a branded bus since 2015. I have pictures of two buses One with the old image and another with the rebranded logo. I would provide the image, but having an issue with the new bus being displayed in Crossports. Maybe last night the branded bus was not used for the women’s game because as noted by Bison, it was at the PL Swimming Championships. With multiple sports teams in action, on a given day, HC would need a fleet of branded wrapped buses to provide transportation for every team. Take a look at HC 92 messages. It is his avatar

Foley is always looking for opportunities to be a bitter, small-minded weenie.

Foley is always looking for opportunities to be a bitter, small-minded weenie. No, I just walked out of the Case Center and saw the buses there after seeing both Suffolk and Nichols having them over the last few days. Years ago, East Carolina baseball flew to Uconn but still had their branded bus (with the equipment) pick them up. That is how much it meant to them.

The Silver Fox Bus Company is owned by a member of the HC Class of 1970.
If requested by the HC athletics, there could be several buses wrapped with a HC brand for display and travel.

Athleticism? maybe, but somehow these unathletic players have found a way to be in 2nd place w/10 wins with only 4 to play, which certainly calls into question the athleticism across the league. Considering they are generally undersized & are middle of the pack shooters, I don't see how anyone can say they have done anything but overperform this season. Are they title contenders? Well, IMO, their chances are are going to be dictated in part by the tournament matchups. After watching a bunch games between the other teams this season, I will be surprised if there is not a lot of "upsets" in the tournament.

Big games that'll decide a lot are Lehigh/American (two games, back-to-back, both at AU); and BU/Bucknell...plus our finale w/BU, if it ends up meaning anything.
The key is not getting knocked off by any of the lesser teams, which is a tall order this season.

There are several players on the current team that have demonstrated athleticism in there efforts on the court, however, over the last twenty years, their has been a real deficit in recruiting players that can elevate the team to championship status. More than three or four players are needed to succeed. Additional size and quickness are needed. As Bill Parcells stated” You are what your record says you are”.

I don't know what types of Charter trips Fox makes, but senior citizens going for a clambake day trip to Maine or the Cape would not be offended by the Crusader if the bus is used by others in the off season and it would be free advertising for HC.

More than three or four players are needed to succeed. Additional size and quickness are needed. As Bill Parcells stated” You are what your record says you are”. HC Basketball isn't good enough to lure a smart talented player away from the little and big Ivies and HC academics aren't good enough to lure a smart talented player away from schools with higher level basketball (with exceptions of course. How we landed Lauren Manis would be an interesting analysis). That leaves talent evaluation and coaches who can take advantage of an inefficient market where the recruiting star levels aren't as exact a measure as a Packachoag Phreek spreadsheet. So, HC needs an advantage in recruiting skill as well as a plus coach in team building, skill development and in game coaching. When we get that we shine (Carter, Duffner, Willard, Chesney) and when we don't it's Katy bar the door. Not too much middle ground. When other schools with systemic advantages (bigger student body, bigger budget, more scholarships, less sports, higher level conference) have an average coach, they might finish with a .525-.550 winning percentage. When HC has an average coach, again it's Katy bar the door. Solution?
