BU is pretty good! Start 3 seniors and 2 grad students makes a tough opponent. Need an A game to compete, and the guys didn’t quite bring it tonite.

BBC enough is enough with the apologies. Sorry I couldn't match wits with your in-depth game breakdown! (And they're not "apologies," they're facts.) Go Cross Go!!

Are they the only team in league with grad students?

Tonight we missed the shots that we made at BU - maybe oversimplified but just look at Luc now and then

Luc had far more contested shots tonight than he had at BU. He did not need to take 23 shots at BU for his points.

Are they the only team in league with grad students? There are a number of schools with 5th year players. To me it is irrelevant if they are grad students or if the school figured out a way to keep a player for five years without entering a grad program. The more notable ones are: - Jack Ferguson (Colgate) - listed as a senior but has played five years. - Nelly Cummings (Colgate) - in his 5th year, but sat one of them as a transfer. - Stacy Beckton (American) - listed as a senior but has played five years. - Marvin Bragg (American) - in his 5th year but missed last year due to injury. - Marques Wilson (lehigh) - listed as a "fifth year"; has played all five years. - McCoy (Boston) - grad student. - Mathon (Boston) - grad student. - Whyte (Boston) - 5th year. If Loyola had had any senior last year worth keeping, they would no doubt have recruited them hard for a 5th year. On their men's lacrosse team, they have ten grad students and likely a couple more 5th years.

Since last year didn't count either, he may still have a year of eligibility.

There is too much pressure on him to score. Self inflicted pressure. Other guys can score if you do what a point guard should do and help create shots for guys.

He is more of a 1 1/2 not a pure pg. had RJ not rushed back we might have had that natural pg, but for now that is speculation didnt see the game yet but will try and catch it in the next hour

The only offensive scheme we have is to run a weave around the top of the key and someone drives to the hoop or dumps the ball to Gates... somebody recently posted that we ran a few backdoors... well I watched closely tonight and did not see one back door!!! We have no offensive schemes to get guys free for open shots!!! This is on CBN ... he really does not get the team in a position to win... I will agree that the guys have improved!!! But please put them in a position to WIN!!! And, please come up with a Defense that will succeed....Paging CRW.....

Geez, not even one mention that this was a Turnpike Trophy game. Kudos to all the students who showed up (I'd guess darn close to, maybe more, than 500) but apparently a bribe of a Cousy jersey was necessary. Loudest I've heard the Hart in years. Too bad our players couldn't keep up with BU.

I agree with your agreement. Many of the individual players have improved with at least one very notable exception. But, the key is that while the individual skill levels have improved, there seems to be very little . . . . . . wait for it . . . . . "synergy." We generally have 5 guys trying to play one-on-one. Gates or Luc driving to the basket with especially the former going, no exaggeration, 1 on 4 to the basket.
We played close to the Terriers for most of the game but at the end we faded. So after winning 5 out of 6, we've now lost 2 in a row.
Oh, for those who think the 3 games a week is too much (many of our PL colleagues in the same boat), if I heard Coach Kennedy at the "Chalk Talk" correctly, he thought it no big deal as almost all the players have played AAU ball which is the same frequency.
And Austin Lewis a great teammate and understands his role on the team which isn't in the game for now but he's improving and has gained 20-25 pounds. Others with better hearing and better memories can fill in the many blanks that I've created.

Lots of offensive masterminds in Crossports Land - perhaps Coach Nelson can schedule some Crossports Chalk Talk sessions this summer to pick up some tips!

Agree - I don't think pointing out their huge edge in experience is an excuse. I thought the guys at least played more aggressively than against AU. This was just a much better team. At BU, they somewhat took Mathon out of his comfort zone. Not so this time around. And McCoy is as crafty as they come. Having these 2 is a big advantage for BU. I've mentioned this before - take them away, and give us Butler and Faw....I think you'd see teams a lot more closely matched. I'm no X and O guy, but I am hoping the team dynamic will improve next year with the return of RJJ. Defensively, I think they missed MT; it was tough having Bo and Bubba each with 4 fouls in the latter stages of the game. May not have made a difference, but I would have liked seeing Rabs get a cameo or two to give the others a breather banging with Mathon. Was very nice to have students in the seats last night, even if they did need to be bribed. Another tough one on Saturday.

How about fewer arrogant and cynical comments and explain to us why our perception of an offense based on one on one moves to the hoop is not accurate. Can’t wait to hear.
