I remember those plays as well- absolutely outstanding.
Not a set play, that is a smart player doing it on his own...My daughter did it numerous times in high school, and did it a few times in college....
yup, understood....just a smart "play".
I wouldn't mind seeing them go for the home run in one of these situations. I recall Jordan Stevens throwing one to Malcolm Miller to clinch a win at USF. JS had shoulder issues, and I remember one of the coaches saying you could hear the shoulder make a sound as he threw it.
Speaking of AB, saw this quote on the Charlotte message board after their win over Marshall yesterday:
"Also Butler had a freaking game tonight. 17/9/3/3. He was scoring from all over the floor. I’m really gonna miss having him. Dude is just a baller."

Yesterday was about as excited as I've been watching a Patriot League regular season road game since the HC-Bucknell rivalry was still a real thing.
Second half was a tale of two spurts. 15-2 HC run followed immediately by a 17-2 Navy run that eclipsed 9 minutes. Navy D the last 15 minutes was straight-up lockdown. At one point, I thought that our best chance to score would be to try to free up Luc on a double screen up top and just try a fadeaway jumper from the elbow.
Big road win for this team. Nelson and Nkoju are beasts -- would love to see the Midshipmen make the dance this year, barring a miracle run by our guys. Navy always seems to be snake-bit in the Patriot League tournament. Maybe ONE semifinal appearance the last 15 years, the year they beat us in a 4/5 matchup IIRC. I think it was Carmody's second season, the year after we won it.
Alumni Hall continues to win the award for darkest arena in the Patriot League.
