Amazing what a Coach in her scone year can do with players she did not recruit. Congratulations to Coach Magarity and Staff! But she re-recruited them when she got here, unlike ...

Not to put the beer on ice, but........Most likely going to see Bucknell is the semis if things shake out as expected. What a game that will be! Although this year has been all about the unexpected.

Breaking news from Worcester......
Holy Cross will be making a coaching change and make NCAA history in the Men’s program.
Word has leaked that Maureen Margarity will be named the coach of the men’s program at the conclusion of the Women’s NCAA tournament. 😀

I almost hate to admit it, but I do wonder what that annoying UNH grad now thinks of Coach Magarity. He did say she was no better than an average coach. In fairness, he said she did a great job with her predecessors players but was not a very good recruiter. I do think the current freshmen class has good potential & at least on paper, the incoming class could be very good.

Didn't say perfect, but trust me, we see much worse over the course of a game on the women's side. They let them play, by & large not a lot of fouls

down the stretch, the help defense totally closed off the middle The double teams on Durant were very effective, due to proper rotations

Just a great effort against a tough BU team - we needed to win to clinch the title as AU and Lehigh were cruising in their games. Regarding coach winning with 'players she didn't recruit' - I'd say she's pretty happy with that talent in the sr class, jr Cross and much of the soph class (her recruiting is still tbd)
Avery is everything to this team and she simply has established herself as one of the all time greats at HC

Do we have Flaherty's spot available for a transfer in from the Portal for immediate help next season?

Coach Margarity has better resources and facilities at HC, than she had at UNH.
With the prior staff with the same players, we would not have seen the celebration tonight in the Hart.
Regardless of who recruited tonight’s team, Maureen has done an outstanding job this season.
Again, Congratulations to the Head Coach, Staff, the team and most importantly the senior, junior and sophomore class for their commitment to Holy Cross Basketball through all the coaching and administration changes during their time on Mt. St. James.

Again, Congratulations to the Head Coach, Staff, the team and most importantly the senior, junior and sophomore class for their commitment to Holy Cross Basketball through all the coaching and administration changes during their time on Mt. St. James. At one point they had a suspended head coach with a no trespass order, an interim head coach and interim AD. The next year they had an assistant coach on an unacknowledged leave all season and an interim head coach. Then they had a head coach they couldn't meet in person for months due to Covid. And never a peep out of the players.

Do we have Flaherty's spot available for a transfer in from the Portal for immediate help next season? Yes & No, they have 4 coming in next year, replacing the seniors, with 2 commits for the following class as well as some outstanding offers to some bigs. Potentially, they could take a transfer, but she would have to be someone they believe would be an immediate starter I think, either a legit scorer or a big. If not, unless someone else leaves, gets their recruiting classes pretty unbalanced.

Going forward, they get a bye, then play the winner of Navy/Colgate game. If they win that game, then play the winner of Bucknell/Lehigh.

Interesting. Glad we are making hay while the sun shines this year.

At least two beautiful OOB plays for easy layups tonight The one towards the end went for an uncontested layup that widened our lead.
