Watching Purdue in the Big10 Championship, they would be a great matchup for Colgate. Have trouble scoring, not very athletic, and Colgate’s size would be able to hang in against their massive (slow) bigs. Announcers love their “star” Jaden Ivey, but IMO he’s overrated and wouldn’t scare me like the studs for other teams around that seed line (e.g. Banchero @ Duke, Agbaji @ Kansas) The NBA loves him also. very quick, fast, jumps, shoots the 3 and can drive it.

Makes sense — if the modern NBA loves a player, that typically means BBC does not. Guys who play college ball in the modern NBA style are awful for the college game.

Colgate with a pretty darn good draw as a 14 seed — first round vs a beatable Wisconsin team, and dumpster fire LSU who just fired their coach yesterday (with former HC asst Kevin Nickleberry as interim) as the 6 seed in their pod.
Door open for a Sweet 16 run

Going to be like a home game for the Badgers in Milwaukee vs. Colgate.

Paulo Banchero, Chet Holmgren, Johnny Davis and Keegan Murray are pretty good for the college game who are projected Lottery picks along with Ivey Just to name a few

Door open for a Sweet 16 run You really said this? Sweet 16 run for Colgate? 1) Wisconsin has lost two in a row, including to 10-22 Nebraska (KenPom #138) 2) KenPom really doesn't like Wisconsin -- has them #34, the equivalent to an 8 seed. The other #3 seeds are KP 7, 9, 14 3) Wisconsin doesn't shoot it well (48.2% EFG, #259), while Colgate shoots it very well (55.9% EFG, #11) If Colgate gets by Wisconsin, it's either LSU (as previously mentioned, just fired their coach) or Iowa St (lost 3 in a row, including a 31 point drubbing to Texas Tech in the Big 12 Tournament). Has there ever been a better draw for a pL team? When Bucknell was a 9 seed, they had to play KP #20 Arkansas, and then had #6 Memphis waiting for them.

Bryant got screwed being put in the PIG. Got to believe it may be some payback for their fans antics in their tourney final. I am told the fans were no better in the semis vs our old friend Engelstad and the Mount. Kiss is the real deal - acts like a horse’s @ss, but he can play.

Adding to that, Bryant has to play Wright State in Dayton just 12 miles from its campus.

No great wins, but if we think Bryant got screwed by being relegated to the PIG, then it should be a very winnable game for the Bulldogs

Pomeroy isn't the be all end all, but Bryant is the third lowest ranked team in the tournament.
They play in the 30th (out of 32) ranked conference and their best OOC win was against 13-16 Brown.
The PIG seems like the appropriate destination.

A minor point but for several years there has not been a play in game by that name ("PIG" to some). The first round games are just that. The teams who play in them are already "in" the NCAA tournament.

Cute. Why is it necessary to try to put down the people playing this games (which are no longer the lowest 4 seed teams as they once were)?

But the NCAA refers to these games strictly as the "First Four" not the insulting (IMHO) PIG.

If the two Texas schools playing in the "First Four," are the lowest rated teams, why isn't the winner playing Gonzaga? When UMBC beat UVA, UVA was the top overall seed, but also didn't play the play in game winner. Small thing, but the top overall seed should play the weakest team in the field period.

I would assume it has to do with the sites where the 1 seeds are placed. In this case, Gonzaga is playing in Portland and Kansas is in Fort Worth, with both games happening on Thursday. Makes more sense (and also cheaper, given that the NCAA is picking up the tab for charters in the NCAAT) to send the play-in winner from Dayton to Fort Worth before a quick turnaround game on Thursday. When HC was in the PIG in 2016, 3 of the 1 seeds were slotted into locations with Thursday games, and Oregon was the only 1 seed in a Friday location (Spokane), which I assume is why the Wednesday PIG winner had to ship out to the PNW.
