Brutal game. Bad matchup for the Crusaders. We could put together any stretches of consecutive positive plays at each end of the floor. Offense was a bigger issue than defense. We didn’t Apple any pressure to American to have to play at a quicker pace by consistently scoring at our end. Team showed great promise over a 5-6 week stretch, then completely ran out of gas. Being down two key contributors (RJJ + Townsel) was too much to overcome. Martindale scored some points tonight, but IMO we are a much better team when the offense is flowing throw Bo (+ Kenny) rather than him. Onward and upward! Excited to see what the team can look like next year with a strong group coming back, another year of extremely valuable experience, another strong addition in Batchelder, and hopefully the staff working some of their typical Spring magic by adding someone in the next couple months. GO CROSS GO!!! That's some good stuff you're smoking/imbibing/injecting there.

HC trailing by five with half a second left. Announcers think "that should just about do it."
That would.

Getting swept by AU, a team coached by Brennan, a protege of the much-maligned Bill Carmody. How is this possible?

They hung tough at the end which was a good sign. Where do we go from here?

Disappointing performance again. They don’t match up well against AU, but you need to find an answer to that. I believe CBN deserves another year, only because he has a good nucleus of players he brought in. But I won’t shed any tears if they pull the trigger. Two weeks ago, they were playing much improved, but have seemed to regress since.

This is depressing. And sadly, I'm more interested in what happens next. How can our team which has no effective centers have so many guys that can't shoot? This is definitely a reflection of the coach's recruiting. Your are what your record is. End this nightmare and hire a successful coach from somewhere and suggest he recruit 2 6:8/6:9 guys from the transfer portal who are having limited playing time at big schools. 6:5 guys playing 6:8 to 7 ft guys is never going to work, even in the Patriot League. I'm done. Whoever leaves, leaves-good luck. KOT 72 KOT nails it...this is a very poorly constructed team....really need to improve our overall perimeter shooting next year

See the new thread on coaching situation--should make for some zesty debate Ha! Zesty debate? You mean the cancel culture vultures ganging up on HCBN, patting each other on the back, and not having any openness to an alternate perspective

Outside of brining in Rick Pitino, the roster was never going to look fully put together at this point. But significant progress has been made from the dog poop roster Nelson inherited.

Not rubbing it in from the AU side. But that's the most backdoor layups we've gotten in three years. In fairness to us, though, our bigs passed the ball better tonight than they have all season, especially big to big. And Stacy's never been more aggressive looking for his shot. It's how I expected/hoped he'd play all season.

This is an incredible stat. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before — American took three three-pointers all game. They didn’t hit one.
AU isn’t a great three-point shooting team and doesn’t get many of their points from the perimeter, but it seemed to me Brennan knew he could totally carve up the HC defense inside. They executed their game plan (it’s nice to have one) to perfection.
25-44 2PT FG 0-3 3PT FG
He coached the pants off Nelson tonight. In fact, Nelson is now 0-5 against Brennan.
