In Navy at Holy Cross, Massey makes HC a 12 point favorite (64-52) with an 86% chance for the win. In Colgate at Navy, Massey makes Navy a 5 point favorite (60-55) with a 66% chance for the win. By coincidence, Navy beat Colgate by exactly 5 points.

Maybe Navy will bring their fabulous band to the Hart like they have done for at least one prior PLT game. That would deprive HC of a bit of the home court advantage they worked so hard for if the Crusader Band takes another rare night off.🤔
Anchors Aweigh is a pleasure to listen to one way or the other.

I remember when the entire PL tourney was played at HC. the Army and Navy bands were outstanding...But the best college band I have seen and heard has to be the Dayton Flyers band!!! Great music and they use all kinds of props and "uniform changes"..the director is special! Enjoy

A pox on the band if HC wins two games and there's no significant presence at the finals on Sunday the 13th.

A pox on the band if HC wins two games and there's no significant presence at the finals on Sunday the 13th. Seriously??? How about a pox on everyone else who hasn't shown up at a men's or women's game for 5 years (or more) while the band was bringing the only energy in the building? Since both my kids have graduated I'm not as tied into what's going on with the band as I once was, but the band has a new director who has not had the ability to establish himself with the group because they have not been able to practice (COVID) and the band has not been able to play indoors for 2 years (also COVID). They were told about 2 days before homecoming they would be allowed to play and so a quickly cobbled together group of 6-10 members (that were not an ideal mix of instruments) were able to make it and did what they could with what they had. I have no doubt that the band will be asked, but if they don't make it, it's not because they are indifferent, it's a bunch of 18 - 22 year olds who have not been a real group, were asked long after they made plans for spring break that will not allow them to be back should the team make the finals.

I have to agree. Our band was hit particularly hard by Covid but I have never doubted their dedication or the energy they help to generate in the Hart. I hope they can return SOON. They are missed.

With the disclosure regarding the band and their health issues, maybe some will be now be less critical regarding the athletic attendance policy and restrictions during the season. Watching on ESPN+, filled the void of not being in the Hart.

Outstanding performance by the Dayton Flyers Band.
And they performed fully masked. 😷😉

Watching on ESPN+, filled the void of not being in the Hart. The issue was not COVID cases in the band, the issue was college policy did not permit the marching band to practice indoors until recently. By the time the college loosened that policy, the band was only able to fit one rehearsal into the schedule before Homecoming. When they performed, the band was masked similarly to the Dayton band.

When I made the crack "rare night off" I don't mean to criticize the student members of the band, it's more a desire for HC institutionally to put it's best foot forward and provide the best support possible for the players and fans, even those of us watching on ESPN+. In fact I think the student musicians should receive some type of financial aid stipend for all the time invested. A poster in the past stated that the Navy band members are actually active duty Navy and not students, which I assume is correct. That wouldn't be appropriate for HC because it would eliminate a positive extra curricular activity for students, but having a few alumni band members who live regionally and/or a few local musicians who aren't too long in the tooth who could be available to supplement the student members on an on-call basis might fit HC's unique status as a D-1 school with a small national residential student body. So sorry to sound critical of the students.

Navy held Avery to 11 points in each prior game while Coleman had 17 and 25. Jennifer played 37 and 39 minutes despite having 3 and 4 fouls. Time for Cross to draw a couple of charges. It also shows HC is not a one trick pony and has good options beyond Avery as HC was 2-0 in the prior games.

I think the key is not let the others beat us... hold Navy to < 55
and score 60+ pts w/o a double/double from AL

I hope the crowd is good.
Last game listed was 417 but that has to be not counting students. Way more people then the mens game listed at 898

Also attendance includes all tickets sold, so the men’s attendance may have been less than the number of people in the seats.

Congratulations to all involved over the last 58 home games which is about four seasons. Two programs on the right track and (hopefully) growing. Kit was not handed an empty cupboard.
