Two key BC players (non starters) one of whom averaged nearly 10ppg entered transfer portal before the game and did not play. Columbia won despite going 0-20 on 3s; BC not much better at 2-17. Combined 2-37; must be some sort of record.

who are the BC players in the portal - we could use ACC type talent in Worcester (if a slot opens up)

Combined 2-37; must be some sort of record. That would be DNP-C(stupid)D? A portal entry wouldn't have prevented the players from playing as I understand it. Unless the two players quit the team in the middle of the WNIT on their own when they entered the portal. In any case I think a good coach could have handled it as well as MM did with her two portal players and got a full season contribution from them. Columbia now is getting closer to a shot at hardware with each game, which could have been BC. I don't think BC has any national tournament championships in BB.

I don't think it is fair to make any comparison, each situation is unique. AL clearly approached the staff very early in the season for advice - I doubt either side thought staying was an option. Demski, who knows, but likely didn't consider it until late in the year. Other than American, has any grad senior decided to stay? I don't think so, many of the PL schools don't allow it, I'm certain our friend Bison 137 has previously said as much, at least to Bucknell. We don't have a clue as to BC.

The eleventh commandment says we don't have to be fair to BC. But I will be. If the players blindsided the coach and quit the team when filing for the portal there's not much the coach could do.
It's better if the players feel they can go over their options with the coach and plan things out to everyone's advantage, but I understand sometimes people keep their own counsel to avoid confrontation and when they are ready, just act.

It's a weird situation, handled differently from school to school, some, as soon as a player entered the portal, memory holed the player, stripping them from their online rosters, others not so much. Perhaps MM learned from her own experience with Flaherty how to handle it better,.

I'll be rooting for Kerry if she grad transfers for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons to a school she can play at. Maybe D-2 or 3, somewhere she can get regular minutes and achieve her maximum potential.
I would have liked to see her progression as a three point shooter here, but appreciate she will graduate from HC and wish her well at her next stop.
If Demski finds a spot she might blossom as she appeared to steadily improve during the season.

You really think Demski would have an academic reason to stay at HC another year? Time for her to move on.

Their old, small gym is punching above it's weight getting home games. Eleventh seed Princeton knocked off sixth seed Kentucky in the NCAA first round and lost to fourth seed Indiana by one point in the second round.
Columbia is still playing. Ivy WBB is on the way up.
