3 receptions for 23 yards No punt returns Half Down by only 3. Playoffs alive ? Playoffs not alive for the Lions. If Lions win, Seattle goes to playoffs. If GB wins, GB goes. Kalif is 27 yards from $250K. 4 catches from another $250K.

How was that NOT a TD by Kalif? He was robbed but no dispute by the Lions coaching staff?

I actually think it was a TD Agree. Was hoping they’d challenge it. Matters not for the bonus.

Front office sent the word No more throws. After being the number 1 or 2 target much of the game, no throws his way on the long drive nor on this shorter one.

At least they made sure to get him one bonus. 47 catches for 616 yards is a pretty good NFL season for a guy who probably played 25% of his team’s offensive snaps.

Congrats to Kalif and the Lions. To start 1-6 and finish 9-8 is pretty impressive, particularly when the last win was on the road in 20 degree weather with the Lions having been eliminated from the playoffs and GB needing the W to go. Hopefully, a harbinger of better times ahead for the Lions in 2023.

I'm not so sure the front office would have played games like that, but perhaps I am naive...in any event, he is possibly lined up for one more bonus, anybody know if he has (or if league wide one there is) a bonus for making the Pro Bowl? (As I typed this it occurred to me that rosters have been named already, and that they do not have a KR and PR, but instead just a "Return Specialist"...so his odds on making it are slim, but the NFC return specialist is on the Cowboys, so a playoff run [unlikely] could cause him to miss)

Makes sense as so many back out, they can just go down the list. You are right, its a long shot, but a ton of people do back out of the Pro Bowl. Its a shame he didn't return more kicks, but he was primarily just a punt returner this year. If punt returners stood on their own, he would have made it, or at least been a higher alternate.

Kalif Raymond confirmed he played through broken ribs in the Lions' Week 18 win over the Packers. This is significant, because Raymond reportedly suffered the injury first half of last night's game, but returned to haul in a 43-yard reception in the third quarter to put the Lions in scoring range. Raymond's catch would prove instrumental in the Lions' win, as they knocked off the Packers to close out the season at 9-8.

Hard to be prouder of Kalif than I have been already. But playing through broken ribs is particularly impressive. Don’t know how many posters have had broken ribs but I have. Hurts to breathe, very difficult to sleep and sneezing is a killer. Yet he continues to play for his team and teammates in a game where the Lions’ post season aspirations were gone and performing his job meant taking big time hits from much bigger guys. A special Lion and a special Crusader.

HC’s first all pro since ? Jon Morris ? Bruce Kozerski ? Vince Promuto ? Gil Fenerty- in the CFL ? Bill Osmanski ? George Connor ? Morris was 4 time AFL All Pro, last in 1969 (Bob Dee was 2 time AFL All Pro, last in 1964) Kozerski never made a Pro Bowl Promuto made two Pro Bowls but was never All Pro Fenerty was two time CFL All Pro in 87 and 88 (Doug Cosbie made 3 Pro Bowls ‘83-‘85 but never All Pro) Osmanski led the NFL in rushing and was NFL All Pro in 1939 Connor made 6 All Pro Teams, 5 at OG and the last at LB in 1955 So as far as I can tell, the Holy Cross NFL All-Pro Pantheon is Osmanski, Connor, and Kalif. ELITE COMPANY.
