CCHA final. Bemidji State vs Minnesota State. Goes to OT. Minnesota State scores a goal to win on a partial breakaway. Celebration ensures. Trophy awarded, photos taken, teams leave, Zamboni cleans the ice. Fans pretty much leave the place.
But in the back room, there is a review. Goal is disallowed, it actually went UNDER the side of the goal, that had gotten dislodged. Correct call, but why didn't it happen right away???
Teams are called back to play after a delay of an hour from when the game ended. Minn State wins again.

It was immediately reviewed but they called it a good goal before getting this good TV angle. No clue how they rushed that.

Would have raised havoc if Bemidji State had won; assuming that the CCHA champ gets an auto bid.
Minn. State is a top seed and undoubtedly would have gotten an at large bid; so someone else who got in wouldn't, probably St. Cloud State or Michigan Tech.
Bids by league: Hockey East (3), ECAC (2), Atlantic (1), NCHC (5!), Big 10 (3), CCHA (2).
Almost In College draws Michigan, but having the games in Allentown PA is not bad for them, I would think. The schools with the big advantages in that regard are Denver (playing at Loveland, CO); plus Umass and Northeastern (playing at the DCU). Allentown and Albany are about as neutral as you can get for sites.

That its the one that each counted as a win (and they still do!). Bizarre moves by the officials, but some things never really change.

My maternal grandfather graduated from Holy Cross in 1898. He must have at least attended the Worcester game. Thanks for posting this article. "the bus" must have been horse drawn and the term just continued to be used when automobiles started to replace horses.

Wow. If anything reminds you of events in 1896, you must be really old
