Congrads Avery, I guess the former BU coach likes her PL guards! I honestly thought she would end up in the A-10 myself.

According to Massey, they were well behind Bucknell in the national rankings. she should definitely help them.

Going high major - you get 'em, girl! In fairness, Wisconsin is in full rebuild mode, they are not very good, but a great conference

They were 5-13 in conference - not good, but their best in a decade, at least.

Whatever Masters program she will be in is most likely of high quality.

Political Science major at HC. But she interned over the summer in the Iona Athletic Dept. and has said she would like to stay in sports or sports broadcasting (said she'd like to do color analysis for an HC baseball game this spring) so perhaps either an athletic administration or communications masters program.
Would she have as much potential as Torrey Thomas had overseas or are there fewer opportunities for women? Lauren Manis left her team early as she said they lied to her about her living accomodations.

Katie Nelson (BU grad ‘21) just completed her grad year with the Badgers - she played the point and was rarely subbed for, logging about 35 mins per game - she scored 27 in their B1G tourney loss - I really think AL will have a tough time playing the point in that league if the plan is to replace Nelson. This might be a reach unless she gets quicker and improves her handle

Congratulations Avery! Well deserved!
Can't believe the quibbling about how many freaking days she was in the portal, or how strong of a program Wisconsin is.....but as usual, not surprised.

What a great choice. Great academics, great city. Maybe a bit of a stretch athletically, but why not? I came very close to going there for grad school after HC. Very happy for her.

In the don't know whether to laugh or cry dept., I wonder if HC will have a "signing day" like high schools do with all the HC seniors from different sports wearing sweatshirts of their new schools they are grad transferring to?

Why cry? She couldn't stay at HC, she's leaving with her degree. If anything this helps with recruiting.

Wisconsin is a great university in a wonderful setting. HC undergrad, Wisconsin grad is a great combination. This is real feather in her cap. Extremely excited & happy for her.

LS, right now Avery would be the only one in that picture Don't we have any FB seniors who have grad transferred or are they all coming back for one semester as super seniors? Malcom is still waiting. Best of luck to him. If no seniors from other sports are able to grad transfer, it will definitely be in the cry dept. as that indicates HC athletics overall has a long way to go to be competitive in D-1.

I see that Katie Nelson has been named a grad asst coach for next season so that is a plus for Avery in her transition Don't get my comments above in the wrong way - this is a great opportunity for AL and to play against the likes of Caitlin Clark in that league will be quite an experience - I'll be rooting for her success
