The Peacocks in the Sweet Sixteen. Whoever woulda thunk it!?! Reason to think there's hope a once proud HC basketball tradition can be revived. Somehow, though, I think not. Not until TPTB decide that salvaging basketball is important to the college. So far, I see no indication that they do.

It can always be worse. For fellow oldtimers, we could be NYU. No hoops for a number of years and then made a return at the D3 level. Where have you gone Happy Hairston, Barry Kramer and Mal Graham.

In terms of my interest in the tournament, Saint Peter's is it for me, now that the Zags are gone. Once they're done, I'll be spending 100% of my sports time refreshing the transfer portal every 5 minutes.

Dave, Gonzaga still quenches your thirst for mid and low major programs having success in the tournament?

SoV, not really; I guess I'm just wishing they would finish the job to close out the story of their rise. They've certainly haven't been a mid major for many years, but it's kinda cool to me that a team from the WCC is a major player like they are.

“Peacocks will face Purdue on National Peacock Day — is it a sign to back them in Sweet 16? March 25 is National Peacock Day. Are the stars aligning?”

Outstanding defensive effort by St. Peter's, and won it at the line (19-21, +6).
Purdue clobbered them on the boards, but turned the ball over fifteen times (-7)

Was at the game An amazing game and fan experience. Holloway’s offense is as good as his defense.

How great is this? And just a month ago the MAAC was Pitino, Pitino, Pitino.......total afterthought now. Love it!
This team reminds me a wee bit of that 2007 Southern Illinois squad.

St. Peter's single game high for attendance this season at home -- 777 against Quinnipiac on a Friday night in early February. All other home games were in the 400-600 range.
There were definitely more people at the watch party in their gym last night than at any home game in years. Probably 3/4 of the people there celebrating last night attended zero games in Jersey City this year. I'm not sure what their COVID protocols were, which could've changed between end of regular season and now.

Maybe Holloway can come to Holy Cross. And bring his entire team with him.

Maryland might want to go after another Seton Hall coach in a couple of weeks.
