Luth was built for football. To be able to have events like this. Why does HC want to be like an Ivy when they have to come here for a pro day? Twenty-six NFL scouts who will talk highly of the facilities for HC football.
No other sport can get you this kind of publicity.

Very impressive--great exposure for the program and hopefully our guys get invited to an NFL camp.
47 inch vertical for Aaron Shampklin is extraordinary

That's Spud Webb ups...

Twenty-six NFL scouts who will talk highly of the facilities for HC football. No other sport can get you this kind of publicity. Unrequited, not to mention interminable and fantastical, Ivy-envy. What makes it fantastical is that HC has affirmatively chosen not to be a national university in the same competitive class as the Ivies. We didn't just drift into the national liberal arts category, Holy Cross actually discontinued it's one graduate program in chemistry to have the distinction of undergraduate only. The only area we compete with the Ivies as apples to apples is in FB as FBS members and mid majors in BB. In the other sports the Ivies are generally competitive in D-1 whereas we are generally not so much.

What I meant is it is fantastical for HC to have ivy envy because we are not in the same category as them. We purposefully are a national liberal arts college and they are all National Universities with graduate and professional schools. So we don't compete except in FBS and BB. In the other sports we play them but probably only have a 10-15% chance of winning on average. The national LACs you mention are our rivals and those are the ones PVR wants us to move up the rankings against. Let's beat the Ivies in FB and BB and then go after schools our own size and beat them in the USNWR rankings. Or hope that magazine goes out of business like Look, Life and the Saturday Evening Post.🙂

Vince Carter's vert was 43" IIRC -- in his prime, not as a forty-something closing the curtains with the Nets a few years back. 47" is approaching the limits of human capability.

When you see his vertical leap and know he ran a 10.82 100M in high school, Aaron Shampklin’s prolific career at Harvard really makes sense.

Perry's completion percentage (96 percent) was truly phenomenal, given that he was throwing to receivers he had never played with, running all different types of routes. (Perhaps he was up at HC for a few afternoons of practice throwing to the receivers before pro Day?)

(Perhaps he was up at HC for a few afternoons of practice throwing to the receivers before pro Day?) I'm too lazy to look it up again but I did read earlier that pro scouts were quite impressed by his athleticism but had real doubts regarding arm strength and motion. As a matter of fact I had the impression that his pro chances would be much more along the lines of special teamer/receiver type of guy than as a NFL QB. But he may be opening eyes for that position.

Perry ended his Senior Season at Brown as a projected undrafted free agent. He has had such a spectacular lead up to the draft (MVP of the East/West Game; top combine performance among all QBs) that his is now projected to be drafted in the 4th or 5th round.
He and several of the players at the Pro Day (including Tenio) have been training at the same complex with the same personnel in MA. Perry had glowing things to say about Coach Chesney and Tenio in his interviews after the pro day.
Benton has also really helped himself since the end of the season as well. Still likely an undrafted free agent but has moved up several boards as both a 7 tech D-End in 4-3 defenses and/or pass rush specialist OLB in 3-4 fronts.
