Presume old friends NP and JS spoke positively to him about Holy Cross.

Nice get. A couple of more pick ups like this and we might be ok next year. Rumors or Coach Nelson's demise may be exaggerated. Go Brett go!!

Likely, as others have suggested, that BN has a five-year contract and next season will decide his fate.
Note in Joe's bio that "his faith is very important to him . . ." and that he values his education, so probable he will stay and graduate, regardless of what happens to Nelson.
Big volume scorer in high school, scored 16+/40 at AF this past season, physical, good percentages inside and out.

The Transfer Portal Taketh........and giveth. Agree PG and a big are desperately needed. Let's hope coach Nelson is not yet done with the portal.

That is a lot of points in high school. He is used to seeing the ball go in the basket which is never a bad thing at least on your end of the floor.

Seems like Joe could be a nice addition. Let's hope he's the kind of player and scorer we thought Martindale might be.
This makes it very clear that Nelson, unfortunately, is returning next season.

Fewer than 2 three point attempts and 2 free throw attempts per game.in his 20 mpg last season 60% free throws seems.like either a driver or a pull up jump shooter. More likely a jump shooter considering how few free throws he attempts.

Welcome to Holy Cross, Joe!
Seems like the kind of player who could be great weapon off the bench. Problem is that solid bench players aren't as useful when you don't have a starting lineup to speak of.
Hopefully Octave can build some rapport with his teammates quick and convince them to stay here.

His fouls drawn per 40 minutes of 4.3 would have been second to Gates on HC team so he’s not bad at getting to the line but had less success making his free throws

He won't be able to use his third year of eligibility here, unless he took many engineering courses at AF that aren't accepted by HC. That's fine.

If he averaged 20 minutes for a presumably stronger AF team, I'm thinking he'll get 25-30 minutes on a weaker HC squad.

Of greater need are a point guard and a big A 6'10" kid from UB just hit the portal. He was offered by 3 PL schools and has 3 years of eligibility left. He redshirted in '19-'20 and the next year didn't count. He had over 20 offers coming out of hs. His name is David Skogman.

From his bio chose UBuffalo because of the academics and the basketball program.
