We should play BC every year in basketball.....there is no justifiable reason we do not imo...we are/were rivals going back ovah 100 years....ummm, isn't this basically why we have intercollegiate sports? Might not be true now, but from an HC standpoint there was the whole BC refusing to play HC when HC was consistently giving them a competitive game and then again when a Coach Brown team beat them badly in the Centrum. Because I don't buy into the whole theory that the major conferences are so good top to bottom that those teams should only play cream puff games at home for OOC (unless ESPN comes knocking to set up an attractive TV game), I would agree there is no justifiable reason why BC should refuse to play a traditional intrastate rival

Good, but I wish the margin was much bigger I'm not a BC fan, but I've never quite understood this feeling of wanting BC to fail so badly. Call me crazy, but I think it would be a good thing for Holy Cross if BC was relevant in basketball and we could play them every year in a game that meant something, and rather have BC not be such a joke when we play them in football in '18 and '20 so the games will stick out a little bit more to the general public. Part of it is old timers who will always hate the "rival" of their youth even if the rivalry is long dead. There are some McCoys out there today who still hate the Hatfields. I will always root against the Yankees, Lakers, and Canadiens. Part of it (for me at least) is thinking that BC really screwed up college sports by being the first school to chase the almighty dollar and jump into a conference that makes no sense other than TV money

Well, one team will be very good. The other ? Will it be competitive ? It will be unless UConn goes crazy...SC is a very good team, well coached, and talented.... UConn is a fun team to watch, they move the ball, shoot it, defend and never take a play off..

Unfortunately both teams could not lose, but the preferred team did lose. No more needs to be said

Umass pretty often. Most recently in back to back years during the triple header at the Garden when HC played Harvard. I'd say BU maybe once and Northeastern zero

Down in the Southern Confernce, Geoff Beans (younger brother of Phil Beans) and Furman finished in a 3-way tie for 1st place. Tie breakers put them in second in a 10 team conference. No home court for anyone. The entire tournament including the finals are played at one location

Siena beating Monmouth by 1 with 43 seconds left. Would be a shame to me if the Hawks missed out on the NCAAs again.

Nice how Siena gets to play the tourney in their home arena. Probably because no neutral arena wants the MAAC tourney any longer.

I can't fault any program at or near HC's level getting rewarded for drawing well.

Free advice: give them a strong look when filling out your bracket next week. They have some impressive athletes, including former Indiana controversial recruit Hanner Mosquera-Perea, and played a really aggressive, attacking style that could create a very difficult matchup in the Tournament.

Steve Forbes coached at Wichita before ETSU, and the Bucs play similar to Gregg Marshall's team. Definitely a strong defensive team.
