University Maine trekking down to North Carolina to pick up $ 85,000 paycheck from Duke (ESPN2 at 5:30) Figure Duke will draw 9,000 fans at an average ticket price of $50 or more (probably way more) = $450,000. So it looks like the $85,000 is affordable. The NCAA should limit the number of home games a team can play--just not fair to the smaller programs.

Would rather have a root canal than watch this debacle. Just 2+ years after taking the coaching job, Maine's Bob Walsh is in trouble, as multiple kids transferred out after last year. The Black Bears currently check in at KenPom 340.

UCLA gets a big upset of UK at Rupp Arena. They were up by 11 in the last minute and let UK close to 3 pts. It had a familiar feel to it. But, The Bruins scored their average of 97 points! They were impressive.

I find these "money" games reprehensible, embarrassing, cynical, prostitute-like.

Boston U down 67-59 at NC State...at the under 4 media TO.NC State has been up by as much as 16 in the 2nd half...They are playing a vanilla 2-3 zone, not really impressive, Eric Fanning has 16 to lead the scoring, Alston has 12..

ACTP- What do you think about them?

ACTP- What do you think about them? The players love them. That's what matters. The big-time experiences offer memories of a lifetime, a chance to compete against the best, and the the kids get to tells stories to their kids and grandchildren. That's what I think of them. The games are for the players. As they should be.

ACTP- Valid points. What about the fans who PAID to see a real game (not an exhibition)? My suggestion: Such games should be free admission to all.

Fans know the teams that are playing when they purchase their tickets. Don't like the opponent(s)? Don't buy a ticket. btw, there are many upsets and numerous close games every year in these guarantee games.
