I do not understand the people that say "then ooc games do not matter", I believe that every game is important and every game matters.

True, but some are more important than others, especially those in March, as we saw last season

One of our peer New England schools has had a pretty weird season to date. Northeastern has nice wins over BU, Michigan State, UConn, and Oakland, but perplexing losses against LIU Brooklyn, Cornell, and Stony Brook. Beating top 150 teams and then losing to bottom 250 teams.

It just irks that HC and BC don't play every year.....there's really no good reason for this imo.

A few weeks ago, St. John's lost at home to one of the worst teams in the nation, Delaware State. Tonight they beat Syracuse by 30 points in the Carrier Dome.

A broken record at all-nite party plays the same tune less than you do. We used to play the Violent Femmes debut album ovah and ovah in our Caro St basement/pub many a night......seriously though, BC can play all these New England schools and they can't play us.....or vice versa? No excuse.....this used to be a rivalry...sad.

No excuse.....this used to be a rivalry...sad. Yes, sad indeed, but all too common. Dayton and Xavier used to have as intense a rivalry as any but haven't played since X bolted for the Big East. Numerous other historical rivalries no longer exist or are mere shells of their former selves. It's hard to maintain a rivalry when the schools' interests are seen to diverge, and obviously even harder when one refuses to participate under nearly all circumstances.

The Big Five persists, probably because no school dares to leave, and incur the wrath of Philadelphia basketball fans. On a lesser scale, the Beanpot in Boston is another example. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_Big_5

The Big 5 persists, but there was a gap from 1991 to 1999 when Villanova pulled out. Rollie contended, among other things, that it was hurting his strength of schedule, but in any event the Wildcats eventually returned. The intensity isn't as great as it used to be, of course. No double- or triple-headers any longer and few games at the Palestra, but it's good that it still exists.

Seems awfully unsporting of UNH to play a basketball game against 1 person. Surprised he was able to score 26 against the Wildcats!

Seems awfully unsporting of UNH to play a basketball game against 1 person. Heck, Lehigh's playing Cabrini tonight - and I don't think she has any help either. Hopefully, this rivalry won't become "habit" forming for the Mountain Hawks
