Here's how the PL OOC play compares vs. last season in regard to the opponent's rank in KenPom. Please note that the rank for last year is where the team stood at the end of the season, not when it played the game vs the PL team. Of course, the team rankings for this season will change throughout the season, e.g. the HC win over #183 Albany may end up being a win over #267 Albany if the Great Danes finish poorly or a win over #122 Albany if they prosper. You get the idea.
Teams Ranked 1-50 LY= 0-12 TY= 1-12
Teams Ranked 51-100 LY=1-14 TY= 1-5
Teams Ranked 101-150 LY=2-12 TY= 2-5
Teams Ranked 151-200 LY=3-8 TY= 6-6
teams Ranked 201-250 LY= 8-6 TY=5-5
Teams Ranked 251-300 LY= 10-13 TY= 5-3
Teams Ranked 301 or worse, including NR (D2 & D3) teams LY= 21-5 TY= 9-2
Of course it matters which PL team is playing which opponent, e.g. we'd rather have, say, Bucknell or Lehigh playing a #80 team and Lafayette or Loyola taking the 99.9% chance of a loss versus Kentucky or Duke than vice versa. So, my old market research friends might not consider any conclusions "statistically significant", but that should not stop us from weighing in on this

Bucknell with the best win of the night over Richmond. . curious... doesn't Richmond run a PO style offense... if so does Bucknell scheduling Richmond suggest a reaction to American & HC? They run a modified PO, but I don't think it's a reaction to HC or AU. Bucknell has played Richmond a number of times in recent years, plus Nathan Davis and Mooney are friends.

LaSalle coach said that NBA scouts were at their Lehigh game last night watching his players and Kempton. Unfortunately for him, he was held to 12 on only 11 shots, half his average points coming into the game. i think that the tape of this game is on all the other PL coaches DVRs Andree did not play. Wonder if he is hurt ?

plus Nathan Davis and Mooney are friends. interesting, because it's the very reason I constantly hear why coaches who are friends of Carmody and vice versa say they don't want to compete against each other

interesting, because it's the very reason I constantly hear why coaches who are friends of Carmody and vice versa say they don't want to compete against each other This may mean they actually do not want to face our PO. Takes too much time to prepare for. Plus a loss to us definitely hurts them more than a Win helps.

Wonder if he is hurt ? 1. Andree is hurt but it is believed to be minor. 2. LaSalle let Lehigh score its most points of the season per possession (81 points on 67 possessions), so i'm not sure any other coaches are going to want to emulate this defensive strategy. LaSalle won because Lehigh couldn't stop them at the other end.

I would go with Lehigh (still) / Bucknell / and a tie with BU and HC. The rest - pick 'em in any order you wish at this point.

Not Pomeroy, but Massey's composite (including Pomeroy) has it this way: #17 Ivy #18 Horizon #19 Western Athletic #20 Ohio Valley #21 Metro Atlantic #22 Summit League #23 Patriot League #24 America East #25 Big West #26 Southland
#32 Mid-eastern AC Out of 32 Leagues/Conferences ________________
Pomeroy has the IL at #15 and the PL at #24.

The Citadel doesn't play defense, and they play at the fastest pace in the country.

They are statistically the worst defensive team and fastest paced team in the country. Four of their past five opponents have put up 100+ on them.

The Citadel went 16-35 on threes--pretty impressive---and one player was 16-17 from the line (28-29 in last two games). The Citadel made 30 free throws versus 8 for Colgate.

I had thought it was VMI that was the military school down south that played at a break neck pace.
