“MTE?” Multi-team event? Never saw that acronym. Did I guess correctly? Indeed you did. The NCAA now allows one of these 3 team "multiple-team events" (MTE) for each school. Sometimes a MTE will include only three teams, but more frequently there will be four or more. Sometimes as many as eight - although in that case not everyone will play everyone else. The advantage of a MTE is that a participant is allowed to play more total games over the course of a year. To qualify as an MTE, some of the rules are: 1 Max of three contests per school. (Max used to be four.) 2 Last game in the event can't be later than 10 days after the first game. 3 Only one team from any given conference. 4 No school can play in the same MTE more than once every four years. 5 Only one MTE per year for a given school. 6 More than one school can host tournament games. 7 Not every school has to play every other team in the field. 8 Only D1 teams in the field unless a D2/D3 is a host. The MTE has been covered in the NCAA rules for over a decade, although the NCAA rules on the subject have changed somewhat over the years.

Due to the current transfer rules, no clue what team Stonehill will put on the court next fall. Theoretically possible to put one hell of a D1 team out there; wasn't Merrimack's first team pretty good?
If its just holdovers from their 15-12 D2 season last year; yes, losing to them would be most embarrassing.

They feel they gain nothing by beating one of the worst teams in the country. Man this hurts.

Fwiw - #287 this past season (Pomeroy). #288 the previous year.

Fordham is hosting an MTE on 11-19, 21 and 22. Other teams are HC, Stonehill and UIC. Three games involved. Watch Stonehill beat HC and this board go CRAZY If Stonehill wins we know where "this board" will go, but if HC wins, where will you go?

So Fordham schedules three opponents much worse than themselves for their MTE? Not fair to the scholarship fund. Men and women for an inflated winning record on the coach's resume.

The Fordham message board has always been tremendously entertaining At least Holy Cross had numerous successful seasons before..... What the hell has Fordham had other than one year with Digger Phelps? The Jean Prioleau (sp?) era? Their best seems thoroughly mediocre.
