To find your footing, you need to have your feet on the ground-- just kidding, of course

"gerrymandered" or "jerry built"? "jury rigged?" different term. I've always used them as follows (hope I'm right) jury-rigged--- in an emergency you might use the belt from your pants to replace a broken fan belt on a motor or lash an oar to the base of a broken mast to keep your sail up jerry-built-- using poor techniques and shoddy materials to build something, e.g. a shed

Dear Kit,
Let me know when you plan to have a Division 1 program in men’s basketball.
Thank you.

How about this? Dear Kit, Please let me know if having 2 non-D1 teams as opponents on your schedule ever makes the program no longer D-1. Some posters here seem confused about that. I had no idea there was such a rule.

Guys, guys, guys!! The schedule is done. Not one of us here has the slightest control over who we play (and, of course, neither does the coach when it comes to PL teams, just the OOC games). The horse has left the barn. Once we saw Dean College on the schedule and 3 to be named later, you knew we weren't negotiating with an ACC team so if you were smart, you lowered your expectations. This'll be funny coming from me but . . . . . let's let this season play out. I believe we all think, including bbc, that this is do-or-die for the current coach. If he succeeds, we'll all be happy. If he doesn't, there is no way on God's green earth that Kit will keep him. In either case, the future has to look brighter than it has the last 10 years and last 3 in particular. PATIENCE!! (as much for me as any of you! )

We have only two home Saturday PL games, both in February, with another on a Sunday and a fourth on a Friday. We play 4 away Saturday games. Very strange. The Fordham schedule and ours differ on the date of our game,

The worst three basketball schedules since 1995?

This year playing two former junior colleges who are now low D-3, the year we lost to UMass Boston and last year when we beat two low D-3 teams. The Williams loss was to a ranked D-3 team so that schedule doesn't crack the top three.

Question The worst three basketball schedules since 1995? While I keep trying to get past this schedule I think this might be among the all time worst Worthless question unless you plan to back it up with one data point in why you think so, comparing it to prior years. 30 seconds of research looks like we used to play powerhouse programs like Amherst, Assumption, Bentley, Catholic, St Michael’s, Dowling, Kings College, the list goes on. So no, without wasting time and doing more research, it’s very likely not the worst schedule since 1955.

This schedule is a disgrace, we should not be playing the D-3 games. As a season ticket holder I am not happy.

I can remember not too long ago when Navy used to try to boost its record with some D2-3 ooc opponents every year and was often criticized here. For a few years, the PL did try to pressure members to play only D1 opponents. HC used to play traditionally weaker teams each year (hosting St Michael's of VT come to mind). Times have changed, and now most teams in the PL seem to have at least a couple of D2-3 opponents each year with no PL pressure to change that. I do remember how hard it was to schedule high school teams when I was an AD and our school was strong that season. We even had one school who, with no warning, simply did not show up for a game. They felt they had no chance and did this entirely on their own showing no courtesy. (BTW that "no-show" school once again a respectable program in hoops and acts as if it veneer happened.) There are far too many factors (not just strength of opponent) that go into scheduling that I don't like to get into the "our schedule is terrible" game. I too like to see HC challenged by some strong opponents, but my main focus - as a fan of Holy Cross - has always been Holy Cross, our team, our players and our coaches. As long as Holy Cross is playing the game will have my interest and the team will have my support. Those of us who need to criticize the schedule over and over ad nauseam go to it if it makes you feel better. Just note that with the schedule already set, such posts here make no difference - other than a possible catharsis for the poster. It might help to contact the AD about this if it is a real concern. Season ticket holders voices should be heard by Kit. I hope they would be. However, this season's schedule is set. Why not try a very old principle - if you can't find something positive to say, try saying nothing at all. Thanks.

As a season ticket holder, the travesty is that we pay the same ticket price for these games which are (or should be) glorified exhibition games.
But as they say in Rhode Island, “it is what it is.” 🤷🏻♂️
