Another opportunity to turn a program around - we’ve been barely beating D.3 schools for many years - no excuse for such futility

He became Superintendent of Schools for Oxford MA last year. I consider that to be a full-time position.

Considering the whole discussion about whether or not Gibbons was "fired" or not, this is also probably semantics. Saying this coach is "retiring" is perfectly fine especially if he has no intention of coaching tennis anywhere else. He's "retiring" from coaching tennis. If it makes him feel better, that's great. If he agreed with Kit to no longer coach at HC, there is no harm in using that term. I like it better than "pursuing other opportunities."
