I believe this weekend is the reunion weekend for the under 25 year crowd. Looks like good weather.
Next weekend is for the older folks and a strange one it will be as they try to backfill the classes who missed reunions the last two years (i.e. '70 & '71). Of course, Purple Knights are allowed to go every year.
This will be the 50th for many of the "Fraternity" class.
Any Crossporters going this or next weekend?

Next (on my way now from a cruise ship in NJ to Worcester).
(PS: OK, I went by car...and found that Connecticut is repairing almost about every road in the state. What is typically a 3+ hour trip took over 4 hours.)

He sailed up the Connecticut River to Hartford and then took Amtrack to Union Station in Worcester and the Purple Knights courtesy van to campus.

You can watch the Science Center dedication on You Tube. Wonderful to hear Dr. Fauci (he even references "mystery meat"), who seems very moved by the honor. I'm curious how many made it to the 60th reunion.

Watched it: very cool. Six more years to my 60th which I will quietly celebrate with a glass of cabernet here on Cape Cod.

The dedication ceremony was wonderful. He has been a giant in the important work of epidemiology around the globe. When I have been overseas his name is mentioned with awe & respect by others. A statue of Dr. Fauci by the entrance might be appropriate.

It was an impressive ceremony, no doubt. Eileen and I enjoyed each of the presentations as each one hit just the right note. Dr Fauci's comments were most complementary toward HC.
PS: Fauci did have secret service protection at the ceremony open Saturday. They remained unobtrusive. There wren a few protesters who were escorted off campus. They stood down at College Square for about 4 hours, and I'm not sure exactly what they are protesting.

PS: It was also a nice opportunity to see and meet our next Head of the Board of Trustees - the first woman to ever hold the position at HC and she will be there as HC celebrates 50 years with women studness next year!

As much fun as we had at my 50th reunion, the 55th was even better! HC is getting pretty good at this. My thanks to our Class of '67 leaders who helped pull this off - excellent work. Thanks also to those classmates who shared their stories of comebacks after some tough times. We are already looking forward to our 60th.

I also have pics and videos but I wasn’t in the approximately first 10 rows of reserved seats and not even going to try posting them.
Fr. Boroughs was in attendance besides Cousy and Chris Matthews. Fr. Jim Hayes ‘72 did the closing benediction. Jim officiated at one of my nephews’ wedding in Chicago last year and I know him a bit from my IVC days.
I saw him after the ceremony and shared a story one of my classmates and his wife told us at breakfast just before the dedication ceremony.
As they told it, the night before at their hotel they pressed the elevator button and sensed people behind them. As the door opened one of two “huge gentlemen” politely asked if it was OK for them to share their elevator ride. They were a bit intimidated by their size but said OK. When the 2 guys got in their was a MUCH smaller guy with a mask on. The wife asked “are you Dr. Fauci” and he responded, “yes, I am.”
They told him they would be at the dedication ceremony the next day (that sat with us). As they left the elevator, my classmate said, “We just want to thank you for all you’ve done.” He turned and told them “Thank you. That means a lot to me.”
I asked my classmate if he took a picture with Dr. Fauci and he said no. I told him that I would have because while everyone would believe his story, if it happened to me, no one would believe me so I’d need photographic proof.
I did get to spend all dinner last night sitting and talking with Kit Hughes and chatted it up with Vince last night and again this morning. No, I don’t have pictures with me and them but I was behind the camera and have pictures.
