Wondering if the timing of these signings today is in part driven by the school ceremonies?

27 names of the signing day roster -- 6 have signed today. Still waiting on Castro (transfer), Wood (transfer), Rosenberg and Due. And maybe (hopefully) surprise signing #32???

They put up a Tweet for Jon Wood so I’m sure one will come up for Castro

Due now in. Not sure what they do with Wood and Castro. Also good news, Due has added 10 lbs since his visit. Must have taken all meals in Kimball.

It was not called “Ma” Kimball for nothing. Is it still called that ?

Any sense FBS Marshall is using NIL to influence Mills

So at this point there is only Castro left for the Coaches to post as he's enrolled at Holy Cross so there is no concern with him "signed". I was hoping for one more DB this signing period. And I'm still hopeful..... for a good player.....
As it stands now it's quite a class 31 players for now with the hopes of 1 more:
QB (2): Frattura and Jenkins RB (1): Clerveaux WR (3): Mullally, Hopkins and Warren TE (1): Petitta OL (6): Beesley, Nunnally, Gay, Blattner, Janis, Woods DL (3): Robinson, George, Stevenson LB (3) Santee, Spinogatti, Dansdill DB (9 maybe 10): Comestro, Smith, Crocetti, Wood, Onwuzurigbo, Due, Jones, Thompson, Baldwin and ?? LS (2): Rosenberg and Castro K (1): Porto
Overall filled every need possible with the #1 need coming into this class as DB with so many graduating. Along the way HC had 2 decommits - both good players in Dippre (Charlotte/FBS) and Holmes (Furman/FCS), and 1 who I'm told isn't going to play football in college - Thomas Biel (OL).
I personally love the 2 signing days - adds a lot of excitement to the process and focus on certain needs in round 2. I was hoping for a DE in the second signing period and another RB, but that's me. The coaches did an unbelievable job with this class - not that anyone is asking my opinion. I counted 11 of 32 (assuming we get #32) coming from Brian Vaganek and 5 from DiMike. Pretty damn good.
Greatest upside IMO - Defensive Line. Does Crocetti or Dansdill jump down to DE with their 6'4 frame? Safest group IMO - WR - all 3 look like they can play early. Good size and all 3 run great routes. DB - they all can play; I was hoping for that shut down corner on tape; maybe one will emerge from the group. Maybe it's Jones, maybe it's the 1 more DB I'm hoping for. Lots of good safety position battles between what's on the roster and this group from Onwuzurigbo, Smith, Baldwin, Due, Wood, Thompson. Does Crocetti play FS? Where does Comestro play - CB or FS?
Offers for the next class will come out starting at the end of March usually. I expect another big class but prob not as big as 32 this class. Midwest and I will take a break and give a break down on what to expect in late March/early April. I enjoyed it.

Great work Harry! I’ll add my quick 2 cents: 1) I’m also hopeful on that 32nd commit and I think it’s only fitting that such a great class might be rounded out with a very promising player. 2) Lack of offers during second period - It’s clear that the coaches decided to take a much more clandestine approach to the second signing period. Only public offer at DB before a verbal commit was CB Issac Paul (who committed to FBS transitioning Kennesaw State). There were at least 2 others in the “lock-down” CB’s mix that we recruited fairly heavily but both ultimately commited elsewhere. 2) Biggest surprise for me was also not signing a DE in the second period. Coaches looked around but just didn’t seem to find anything at the right value. We did look at a couple others besides Chigozie Ose-Evans (committed to Georgetown) but nothing material ever manifested. Now that being said, I think it’s almost a foregone conclusion that Dansdill ends up being a DE opposite Robinson in this class. This might be a slow progression where they first start him just playing some stand up specialty edge rush in a 2 point stance and eventually ask him to put his hand in the dirt. Or they just might throw him into the fire on day 1. Regardless 6 DEs is just not enough to run efficient practices for an entire season. I don’t think Crocetti ever joins the DE room but is more likely to start with the safeties and maybe work his way into the LB room later in his career (i.e Liam Anderson). 3) I’m fine with passing on a second RB in this class although Harry has a point that losing potentially 4 to graduation after this season is a lot. However, I think we could go find 4/5 string backs in the class of 24’ behind Fuller, JC and Slade. 4) As for position groups I agree that DL has the most potential (including Dansdill), WR is the most reliable and DB is the deepest (presuming we land the final prospect) I also agree of the 9/10 DBs Comestro is the most versatile and the one most likely to be able to play CB or FS/WS from Day 1. Cam Jones could develop into this type of player as well (i.e. John Smith).
***And last thing, if someone wants to ask about a players actual height and weight…feel free. I would say a good rule of thumb is to subtract an inch from the height and 5-10 lbs for skill positions and 10-15 for most lineman. Only a few are accurate (Carlo Croc is a documented 6’4 215 and runs a 4.51) with some just being ridiculous (Stu Smith is ~5’10 180 not 6’1 190)

Picture of ELI THOMPSON at his school's signing ceremony yesterday.
I hope he told his classmate who is going to Georgia that Holy Cross is 3-0 against Georgia!
EDIT: On the down side, Holy Cross made offers to 27 recruits in the State of Georgia. Thompson is the only one who committed to and signed with Holy Cross. (As many are aware, there was another Georgia player who committed to Holy Cross but later de-committed and signed elsewhere.)

Deegan Laube committed to Holy Cross. He is NOT the #32 I was hoping for so, but nice get. I'm still hoping for #33 today.

Laube's Twitter page lists him as a CB/RB/WR, but his commitment posts states he is a RB.

So if last year’s roster was 99 in name and 96 “active” (as a result of career ending injures to Doran, TK, and Leo)…at this point I think roster number is closer to ~103-105 for 2023.

Serious questions -- we now have 32 recruits in the Class of 2023 (I'm assuming Laube will sign a LOI very quickly if he has not done so already), and we are still hoping for #33; so [1] what is the Patriot League roster limit for the 2023 season. and [2] given the returning players and the incoming class, how do we meet that limit?
EDIT: I see my questions overlapped with midwest's post; did not mean to step on toes.

Best recruiting class I can remember but it would be really good to get that last tantalizing guy that feels so close but not here yet. Hoops, you probably didn't realize how often you were with the Laube's out at those beach cocktail parties in the Hamptons.

It’s a great question regarding the roster limit. I do feel you’ll see a few kids leave the team - academics, injury, non scholly not asked back, etc. Hard to know without an updated roster.

Great news to see Deegan has now committed to HC. Looking forward to seeing Deegan on the field and the family attending games at Fitton.

In looking at the other PL football team's football pages and twitter feeds, it is unquestionable that the gap between HC and the rest of the league has widened, and not by a little As I have stated before, I do not like this trend as we can anticipate the PL losing many ooc games to the NEC, Ivy and CAA in the coming season. I just don't see the necessary commitment across the board
