If I’m reading correctly Maxwell graduated from HS in Trumbull CT and will spend a year in prep school?
Impressive highlight reel in high school—really strong with the YAC

Very impressive player with great speed and size......he will add depth to our wide receivers day one. Highly recruited by Navy, Army, Richmond, UMass, UNH, Fordham and others. All State in Connecticut. The football staff are doing an amazing recruiting effort to date. Quality players being added to this premier football program.

Anybody else think that the proposed FBS realignment might create a much improved FCS environment that allows the current effort to continue to grow, staff becomes satisfied with the new level for HCFootball, and questions return on the future of the PL and scholarships -Yes about FCS being on the upswing. -Staff must be happy now with the level of HC Football as they are firing all on cylinders. -Didn't fully follow the phrasing of the last part, but PL scholarship levels, roster limits, red shirt rules can all be seen in a new prism post Chesney, if league members leverage the tremendous value of a combined education and football experience at their schools like Coach Chesney has at HC. Coach is selling the value of a Holy Cross education better than the Admissions, Public Relations and Development Departments combined, and those departments are all pretty good at singing the praises of HC. The same principle applies to the other fine institutions in the PL. All are high quality schools with tremendous underlying value. And unlike the IL where your season ends before Thanksgiving, the PL is a real FCS Conference where you can challenge for the NCAA national championship. The league's restrictions have been shown to be less significant than what a quality staff can do with everything the league does have to offer.

I presume we signed him as a WR. Me too. He's a reclassified prepster for 2022. The date of the WR rating was after 2020 season and the CB one is even a year earlier, maybe his soph year.

If you want to be a national program these are sentences you need to have on a regular basis. Let's hope recruiting success flows downhill.
The Crusaders are going to be a wagon this year. Can't wait.

Yes the player will graduate in great shape but I think you're over-estimating the academics in the recruiting process. It's important, no doubt but I'll argue...
These recruits want to win and win right away....check. These recruits want to compete against the best (FBS) to show their abilities and that FBS coaches overlooked them...check. They want great facilities....check. They want to play on the biggest stage possible and compete nationally....check.
Chesney is GREAT recruiter. Was at Assumption and continues at HC.

If academics are less important than football to recruits, which sounds reasonable, it shows Chesney's great communication skills by coming up with the phrase "You can have it all at Holy Cross" meaning academics and whatever else your passion is including sports.
Even if he knows the football is the largest attraction to potential recruits, he brings along PVR, the parents and the whole HC community by including everything HC offers equally with football.

If academics were the most important thing HC would have won 10 PL titles in a row....and the basketball team wouldn't be a complete mess.
These are football players. The want to win at the highest level their abilities will allow.
