Interesting topic, but I don’t think that ranking the schools by median family income reveals where rich families send their offspring. A better measure ( if you’re going to look at income) would be to rank schools by the percentage of students whose family had income above, say, $500,000. Of course the use of the term “rich” means one should look not at income but at wealth/net worth.
I never reported my income to any of the colleges my two daughters attended. I wonder- were these “median family incomes” a result of FAFSA apps? If so- not indicative of the college in total

Assumption was 39 on the list.....How did you miss that one? Very weird list all around but St. A's was number 1.

What an odd list of schools. When I think of rich people and schools, Delaware, Bryant, and Stevens Tech don't immediately come to mind. FWIW, this writer has come up before in other online message boards about his loose use of data to crank out lots of stories, and is probably paid on a per-story basis. 247wallst.com/author/evan-comen/

Too bad we no longer get actual "news" and more - or only rarely.

Too bad we no longer get actual "news" and more - or only rarely. I'm trying to think of the best words to describe this article: specious, ridiculous, and absurd are some of the front runners.

The methodology is skewed. Expensive colleges in the Northeast and which give relatively low amounts of financial aid. These states generally have the highest household incomes as well. The result: more full pays who reside in states with high household incomes = a list of schools for rich kids worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/median-household-income-by-state

New measure, as valid as the one used: “parental Bentleys per 1,000 students”. At 0.32 per 1,000 Holy Cross is more than triple the national average of 0.09. HC is clearly a school of the rich….
