Now HC by 3-1 at the 15:16 mark in period 3. The game is being broadcast on livestream (free).
Final HC = 3 / UNH = 2

Schedule next year upgrades with schools like Maine, UNH and Dartmouth as they transition to DI. Will be good for HC to make the move. Unless we dedicate significant money and resources to the Women's Hockey program, they are going to get destroyed in D1, and in particular the Hockey East. We are not successful in any of our minor sports, so what on earth makes you think Women's Hockey playing in the best (?) league in the country will be any different?

We are not successful in any of our minor sports, so what on earth makes you think Women's Hockey playing in the best (?) league in the country will be any different? First, it's not widely held that Hockey East is the best Div. 1 woman's hockey league. www.uscho.com/rankings/pairwise-rankings/d-i-women/ Posters on this board would be well advised to carefully read the posts on this board regarding the complexity of H.C. moving either of its hockey teams into "better" competition in Div. 1.. ( financial, marketing, facilities, priorities, existing support, etc. ). There has been some "tire kicking" by H.E. on the potential of Worcester/DCU being a potential site if H.E. moves to 12 teams. There is no formal bid. There are no negotiations. One group on this Board have mis-characterized what this "tire-kicking" actually represents. Another group has pointed to the complexity that such an affiliation any time soon would entail. It's widely confirmed that ADNP and TPTB believe they have way too much on their plate in implementing the multi-year plans they've already initiated. All of this doesn't even address the performance questions of H.C. hockey. The announcement about H.C.'s baby step plans for women's hockey next year is sobering and revealing.

I don't know (or care) about D1 women's hockey rankings, but other than that, I think we are very much in alignment, realism. I break it down into 3 groups with regard to moving the hockey program into the Hockey East: 1) Pine's Puppets: They think ADNP would have us in the Hockey East tomorrow if it weren't for the "big bad" (scapegoat) owner of the Worcester Railers, and then right into the Frozen Four next year, at the latest. 2) Optimistic Crowd: Would enjoy having HC in the Hockey East, but perhaps haven't quite thought through the implications and the very steep curve we need to climb to be successful in that league (both on the ice, and off the ice in attracting crowds large enough to mask how tired of a building the DCU Center is). 3) Realistic Crowd: Have taken a step back to realize just how far away we are from having a legitimate Hockey East program.

I'm confused-- does the "we" in Number 3 refer to Nathan Davis? Is he going to be starting up a hockey program at Bucknell?

Was it a home or away game? I was at Nichols tonight, though I am not sure they have their own ice.

just happened to look at the box score from last night. one could make the case that this was a game that should not have been played. nichols record is now 0-19-1, and we outshot them "71-3" so their goalie made 63 saves. a little ridiculous all around.

Fortunately this is the end of such madness as we point towards HE in 2018-19.

Women are in the NEHC semi-finals against Franklin-Pierce right now. There is no way to follow the 1:00 pm start. No video or stats. If you know what is happening, please post if possible.
