Probably for Phreek who knows all, sees all, tells all or, perhaps '45 who visits campus quasi-frequently, what are the things in the plaza that look like a terra cote color square base and rectangular white posts rising vertically out of them and are on each corner of the two green areas as well as one of the two smaller green areas and partially in the other green area? Does not appear to have lights on the top of the posts. I haven't watched last night but are they perhaps the posts themselves that are lights? Or, mosquito repellants? Or something else? If I had to guess, soft lighted posts. Will have to check tonight if I remember. Just curious. And it looks like they'll have a lot of work to do to grade the lots for the new dorms. Otherwise the rooms will look like the old tilted rooms in the fun house. (anyone else remember those?)

Strings of hanging light bulbs from post to post .... illuminate the bench seating area... ambiance?

OK, makes as much sense as anything else and presumably you are an eyewitness. Not sure how much ambiance they need with so few students on campus. (my donation dollars at work? )

IIRC they have been up for quite some time, pretty sure they were there during the spring semester... think the bulbs are those antique style ones... personally, I do not like them.... think carnival like strings of lights... really does not blend properly with the beautiful Jo...

I went to an outdoor reception on that patio earlier this summer. Was a very nice spot for an evening event. They also have fire tables out there.

In the colder weather, I believe they had infrared heating lamps. My guess is that these are outdoor lamps, If the lights are yellow, then these are also being used as an insect repellant.
