The women's Field Hockey and Volleyball schedules were released earlier today, and each team will make a trip to California - Field Hockey at Stanford and Cal-Davis, and Volleyball at Cal-Irvine.
I know that the Baseball and Softball teams each make a trip down south to start their respective seasons, but I think every HC team should have at least one trip each year where they have to walk through Logan and a destination airport sporting their Holy Cross travel outfits. I always notice college teams in airports - walking as a unit in their "uniform" travel attire, and it can't hurt our brand for our kids to be seen in far-flung destinations..

The question is where is the field hockey team going to practice with the field being unavailable right now??? Where is the closest Field Hockey turf? The closest ones available right now are Brown, PC, Lowell, UMass-Amherst, Amherst College, BC and Harvard. BU's field is also under construction with new turf.

I agree, I think playing outside of the New England region is good for the institution's image and reputation and helps with recruiting. It would be even better if our teams could do well once they get there, but that's a different issue.

According to the published schedule our first 3 'home' games are in Providence, Cambridge and Providence again (assume PC) - Our home opener at HC is slated for Bucknell on Sep 24 I don't know where practice will be starting next week but as a guess, could they share the practice/turf football field ?

Maybe a F.H. trip to South Africa to help keep that pipeline flowing. Other options are The Netherlands and Argentina. Both would be much better options. South Africa is not a good FH country. There are better players in U.S. Mid-Atlantic states than you can find in South Africa.

Both of our South African players have been solid contributors and now we have freshmen coming in from England and Vancouver to join several from the mid Atlantic region. Several from New England, too. All good.

I don't know much about India culture but you would think there would be more female participation from that country based on the legendary men's program.
