So the NE-10 will gladly step aside to let this new league play through and then politely disband hockey to be a good sport? Why can't the NE-10 inform the NCAA they are staying D-2 in all sports except hockey and moving that to D-1 because the NCAA suspended the NCAA D-2 national tournament in 1999 and the NE-10 is the last D-2 league to sponsor men's hockey? Why spend money to create the overhead of a new league when the NE-10 is already up and running? Wouldn't the NCAA love to end the anomaly of dues paying member schools sponsoring a sport without access to a national championship tournament?

As with Stonehill, Assumption will find that D2 is a no man's land.

As with Stonehill, Assumption will find that D2 is a no man's land. This is a hockey discussion. The womens team at Assumption will already be D-1
