2 Big East teams and Vermont I do not know if their women are comparable to the men’s team Vermont’s women’s team last year was not at all comparable to their men’s team. Masseys rankings had them at number 220 nationally. They lost to Bucknell in Burlington by 15 points. They also lost to navy and American.

It's Sep 15th and with the many schedules released this week, how can we expect the two 'tba' games om our slate to be filled with D.1 opponents ? I think this might be a D.2 or 3 situation although I hope I'm wrong. Did someone goof given all the time over the spring and summer to fill the schedule ?

This seems probable since with only four OOC home games listed, hard to see many/any D1s agreeing to play away at this late date.

If you are near the NCAA maximum, is there any material benefit other than pop corn sales to schedule every last game you are allowed to?

2 Big East teams and Vermont I do not know if their women are comparable to the men’s team Vermont women finished in a second place tie in America East and should be back in the top 2-3 again this season. They made the conference semifinals which was further than Holy Cross did last season.

And holy cross was significantly better last year than was Vermont.L

Vermont and HC were a combined 3-0 against UNH last year. And they went 7-21 and 4-12 in America East. Guess who recruited those players at UNH??? The current HC coach....hmmm

Certainly not the D2 or 3 opponents that some speculated. Congratulations to Coach Magarity Renewed criticism of Hughes allowing Nelson to do what the women’s team did not.

I'm not sure if HC would turn down the Pac-12 offer. Exotic trips and games against higher profile or stronger programs seem to be celebrated as accomplishments in official releases on goholycross.com.
Football has turned this celebration of the scheduled game itself being the accomplishment on it's head by actually winning it's last two FBS pay games.

That means total ticket revenue is about $38,500. That doesn’t leave a huge amount to pay an opponent. And most women’s programs don’t draw as well as Mariyland does for those types of games.

Not sure one should assume the pay game amount is intended to cover 100% of the opposing team’s expenses but rather to defray the great portion of it. You have to think the paid team wants to play the “name” school and the payment is an incentive to do that so it is not cost prohibitive. Think of it as an “enticement” rather than a money maker in some cases.

Same as BC in September although I seem to recall the Jesuits of Eastern Mass. were more frugal to the Jesuits of Central Mass. than the taxpayers of CT were to HC.

WOW, I guess you haven't book a flight or a hotel room lately! Just using basic numbers and a quick google shows a roundtrip flight from NYC to LAX at 250 dollars plus colleges get discounts. But go on... www.google.com/flights?t flight tclient=safari&rls=en&sxsrf=ALiCzsZxGMlCOZnmt6X3lDtWrBWnbqheDA:1667173142533&source=flun&uitype=cuAA&hl=en&gl=us&curr=USD&tfs=CAEQAhooEgoyMDIyLTEyLTAzMgJVQWoHCAESA0xBWHINCAISCS9tLzAyXzI4NhooEgoyMDIyLTEyLTEwMgJVQWoNCAISCS9tLzAyXzI4NnIHCAESA0xBWHpoQ2pSSWNFSTVkSFJhVHpZNWJrRkJiVkZJZWtGQ1J5MHRMUzB0TFMwdExYbHpZbkpyT0VGQlFVRkJSMDVtUTNoWlMwaFJUVUZCRWdOdVZVRWFDd2o0dVFFUUFob0RWVk5FT0FOdytMa0I&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj39sH3j4n7AhXGjYkEHR7jBkoQ1RUoA3oECBAQIA WOW, those are great prices! We have been looking at flights to Phoenix, Las Vegas, Florida for this winter..Those flights are at least twice that price!..My daughter in law's brother is flying into Boston from Denver for Christmas, almost a grand for that flight!
