A 94,000 sq ft field would roughly be 430 feet by 220 feet. With end zones, a standard football field is 420 by 160. This would be 30,000 sq ft bigger than Luth. Does not looks as if it will have the height of Luth. The lower height is underscored by the projected cost, $20 million, or so for the indoor field, and probably $8-10 million for renovation and expansion of the Varsity House.

Will they still play their basketball games in an airport hangar?

Clear indication that Tom Gilmore is going to adopt the never-punt strategy

I recall my Dad telling me that years ago the philosophy of Holy Cross was punting depended on where you got the ball. Not recalling the specifics but went something like this: Inside your own 10 yard line, you'd punt on first down (!) Inside your 20, 2nd down Inside 30, 3rd down Inside your 40, 4th down Of course, they also wore leather helmets with no face masks in those days too. I'm also guessing Tom Gilmore will have the Mountain Hawks on an upward trajectory this season. You know, getting his own recruits and all.

Dan Hunt left Colgate in a pretty bad way and the program wasn't in the best shape (4-8 in the season before corona and then 0-2 during the spring). Dakosty rallied Colgate nicely at the end of last season to finish 5-1 in the PL. Can't imagine his seat is all that warm.

Will they still play their basketball games in an airport hangar? Stabler is easiest one of, if not the nicest, arena in the PL. Granted, the bar isn't set high since many venues have a high school feel. Stabler actually has a true mid-major vibe to it. As for Lehigh football; I can't see Gilmore surviving past this year. He's a below average head coach who has surrounded himself with subpar assistants since no one in their right mind will work for him. The OC was able to "survive" a historically inept offense last year because....well....who else is Gilmore going to hire? The defense was "solid" but was also aided by facing some horrific opposing offenses. There's a good chance Lehigh starts the season 1-5. Sterrett will never live down the Gilmore hire. It was inexplicable from the start.....

I have been attending games sporadically at Stabler going back 30 years. On those rare occasion when it is full, like at the Ivy playoff game in March 1996 between Penn and Princeton and for the PL championship in March 2016, it does indeed have a nice vibe. Nevertheless, it always struck me as a sterile, utilitarian structure. About the only thing I can recall as having changed over the years is the installation of a slick new video board. I would take the Kirby Center, Crystal Arena and the Hart over Stabler any day.

Navy's better than all of them, isn't it?
Stabler looks ok except I dislike that white fencing behind the bench areas. Something else would look more like a sports arena and also accomplish the safety concerns.

Yes, it is, for me at least and it’s not even close. Not much of a fan of the Hart Center.

I've been to one game at Stabler. I thought it was a fine venue. Saw us win the PL so that was also nice.
Goodman Stadium easily class of the league IMO.

Alumni Hall at the USNA is the best pL sports venue by far. Fact, not opinion.

Goodman stadium does have a great setting with the hills in the background. The stadium itself still looks as new as when it first opened. The major drawback is how far set back the seats are from the field. As far as modern stadiums in the Northeast, I would take Princeton stadium over Goodman as far as watching a game.

Bottom line, Lehigh does not have any facility concerns and with the recent developments they're positioned to remain among the best relative to their peers in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
The key now is not allowing complacency from the institution's leadership to stunt the overall athletic program's success. I really believe Gilmore will be gone after this year without a significant turnaround. There remains a strong culture of success based on the program's history. Enough people care (especially former players) to ensure a return to national relevance is the expectation, not a goal....

If there is a league and subdivision you can have a significant turnaround in it's the PL and FCS. Good luck.

LUs a good opponent, PL member or not. Hope they return to being competitive. They already have. But "competitive" unfortunately for TG falls well short of the bar set by Lehigh supporters and. They expext to perform like a flagship football program in the PL year in and year out.
