When some folks complain about the FCS championship, they should look at other games out there. Do many of you care about San Diego State vs Houston, New Mexico vs Texas San Antonio, Arkansas State vs UCF, or Appalachian State vs Toledo? They were all on tv last night. I have followed Appalachian State off and on since they upset Michigan a few years back, but even the AS star, Cox, who has had 4 straight 1000 yard seasons was not a major draw. Such games draw in the fans of the two teams and do get the name of the school out there to be seen in sports sections with a blurb on the game...but that can be done in the FCS playoff games as well. Why the hating on the FCS?

Why the hating on the FCS? This paragraph illustrates the waterboarding of the college sports viewing audience; drown them with a surfeit of choices until they lose interest in /association/affiliation with nearly every team.. Given the Supreme Court decision of about 30 years ago, I don't know how to correct this splintering as its now every conference for itself.

Pak, Sadly, you are quite correct. At least the PL seems to look out for its members.
