UNH did play PC in men’s soccer. They lost. So much for that national ranking foley was so excited about in the pre-season.

That was my brain hiccup, not 92's. And I live in RI and know better. Don't worry, next time I will mix up URI or PC with UNH just to make you feel more at home. You know, I really like the folks up at UNH but you are making it difficult. You don't have to try so hard to tick people off here as I suspect it comes naturally to you. You do know, I care very little about my alma mater or anyone in sports right? It is a job so I don’t root for teams ever.

So, coming here to annoy people is your hobby then. Maybe get the satisfaction that you can't quite capture on your job? Just so we understand your motivation.

Back to our sports program (other than FB) our men's tennis team (the one with a coach) managed a single point in two losses, 7-0 to Babson and 6-1 vs. Siena - more of the same embarrassing results - I just don't know how we can be so bad at some sports.

The Do-re-mi is being allocated to the Prior Center? You need a full time coach recruiting like his future career is at stake, not a school principal or judge thinking about his next contentious school committee meeting or difficult court case.

We have never for as long as I can recall made any apparent effort to be competitive in tennis. I think it has been said here in the past that offering D1 tennis to a bunch of full pay kids is a good outcome even if those full pay kids really aren’t D1 tennis players. No idea if that’s true or not.

Nobody in the northeast / New England area gives athletic aid for mens tennis - the playing field is even and we have managed to be a laughing stock

Is the indoor practice facility at the Luth of any value to the two tennis teams? That was supposed to help numerous sports.

www.ncsasports.org/athletic-scholarships/mens-tennis/new-hampshireIf this is correct it highlights HC's competitive burden. We need a coach on the way up who can sell "have it all at Holy Cross." An as for now undiscovered Bob Chesney in tennis whites who just turned around a tennis program at a small school in a lower division.

Field Hockey beat Merrimack. That throws a hand grenade into the poll.

Field Hockey beat Merrimack. That throws a hand grenade into the poll. I do like the field hockey team as they compete. Will be interesting to see whether a W against winless Merrimack is enough to move them up in the poll this week.

Congrats to the team - no doubt this program needs some weak ooc matchups as we simply have not been very competitive in the league most years Merrimack had not scored more than one goal in any of their games until last night Maybe we have a shot this season in the PL as AU is the only team with a winning overall record so far.

Women’s soccer in the cellar of this poll - still winless after 10 matches (0-6-4) - outshot last night 21-3 vs Army

It’s nice to have a good football team when … M soccer loses 3-2 to Army FH manages one shot on goal, loses to BU 3-0 VBall loses to Lehigh 3-1 and Bucknell 3-0

The Luth is not helping most teams, in w/l records, so far.

It’s a close call to know which team should be in the cellar in this poll given the pathetic results of the minor sports Add W soccer to the list, winless thru 11 games (0-7-4) after last night’s 1-0 loss to Lehigh

Updated 9/25:
1. Football 4-0. Nice to have a team that’s good enough to have an off game, lose its leader and best player on the first play of the second half and still win by 25. Harvard next who is one of two teams with a serious chance to beat us.
2. Soccer (M) 4-5. A second straight 1-1 week. Soph keeper Josh Tubbs made 4 good saves in the second half to preserve a 1-0 victory over Northeastern. Lost 3-2 to Army in a fairly evenly played game where the Black Knights scored on 3 of their 4 shots on goal.
3. Field Hockey 3-7. With a win today, field hockey completed a 2-1 week. Two wins were by a combined score of 11-4 over Merrimack and Davidson. Got blanked by BU 3-0 in a home game played at Harvard for some reason. So close to moving ahead of men’s soccer but have to see it for one more week.
T4. Volleyball 2-13. Another 0-2 week. Lost 3-1 at Lehigh and 3-0 at Bucknell. Went 0-2 this week. Swept by Navy and lost 3-1 to Loyola who was 2-6 coming in.
T4. Soccer (W) 0-7-4. Two more 1-0 losses this week. Defense wins championships but goals win games and women’s soccer only has 5 of them on the season. Because they’re competitive and in most games, they’ve moved into a tie with volleyball for 4th.

O-7-4 could be equated with 2-9 so W. Soccer is appropriately tied for fourth rather than occupying the cellar alone.

I agree with LS - Kit has to make some decisions about prioritizing some minor sports over others - has gone on too long that we can’t compete in our league across the board
