Some perspective on our fall teams' struggles:
M Soccer - going back to mid last season, we're now 0-6-1 in our last 7 PL games FH- since 2019, we're 5-16 in PL incl playoff games VB - over the '21 and '22 seasons we're 4-38 overall and 1-19 in the PL W Soccer - we are presently on a 22 game winless streak (0-17-5) going back to our last win on Sep 5, 2021
Where is that document that former ADMB published about the dedication to success on the athletic fields of competition ?

No one will ever write a document stating dedication to booking more net private pay tuition dollars from team members than a non-scholarship sport costs to run. I don't think there is any dedication to that formula, but documents will always state the dedication is to winning.🙂

HC Women's Hockey opens with a 4-3 win over Union. It's not even October and they are leading the winter sports standings. Holy Cross has two undefeated teams at the present time, FB and WH.

Updated 10/5:
1. Football 5-0. Beating Harvard always feels good and likely guarantees us a tourney bid as an at-large if we lose 1 PL game. Entering a softer part of the schedule but can’t have a letdown as we look ahead to Fordham in 2.5 weeks.
2. Soccer (M) 4-6-2. Lost to Colgate and tied Lehigh and Dartmouth. Not great but good enough to hang onto first place in the non-football division.
3. Field Hockey 3-8. A 1-0 loss to Providence in the only game since the last poll. Need to convert some of these close losses into wins.
T4. Volleyball 2-15. Another 0-2 week. Lost 3-1 vs Army and 3-0 vs Colgate. Did women’s soccer do enough to finally move ahead of them?
T4. Soccer (W) 0-8-4. Of course not. A 5-1 loss to Bucknell. I guess the good news is we increased our goals per game number from 0.455 to 0.500. Volleyball is trying to move down in the poll and women’s soccer refuses to let them do it. Men and women for others, I guess.

Emphasizing the positive: FH beat American 1-0 for their first W over the Eagles since 2002 - that's right, 20 years Men's golf is 3rd (of 19 teams) after 2 rounds of the Bucknell Invitational

Was at the game. The win was a combination of great goal tending by the HC goal keeper and a bit of luck. Laffy had a breakaway and hit the post and bounced right back to the attacker who kicked again and hit the post a second time.

Was at the game. The win was a combination of great goal tending by the HC goal keeper and a bit of luck. Laffy had a basic breakaway and hit the post and bounced right back to the attacker who kicked again and hit the post a second time. I see the second half shots were 11 to one in favor of Lafayette, with five of them on goal. And that does not count the two that hit the post, since they are not shots on goal. HC keeper definitely must’ve played well.

Updated 10/16:
1. ✝️Football 6-0. Handed Bucknell a most unHoly Loss at Polar Park. Need to take care of business on the road at Lafayette before returning home to play ranked Fordham before a massive Parents Weekend crowd at Fitton.
2. ⬆️Field Hockey 5-8. With two one-goal wins (American and Colgate), the ladies have moved into the top non-football spot in the poll for the first time this season. Congrats to them.
3. ⬇️Soccer (M) 4-7-3. Loss to Loyola and a tie at American not good enough this week to hang on to the spot they’ve held since the 9/11 poll. Still time to get it back but field hockey won’t make it easy.
4. ⬆️Soccer (W) 1-10-4. 2 more one-goal losses before finally getting a dub on Senior Day. Have to reward winning and competitiveness here. They can’t score (8 goals in 15 games) but they keep themselves in most games with defense and goalkeeping.
5. ⬇️Volleyball 2-18. 3 more losses since the last poll by a combined 9 sets to 1 and the pollsters have had enough. Just not competitive at all.

She was the "woman of the match" in my opinion.

Soph goalie Dubin started the first 12 games - (not sure why) but the coach has started sr. Castagnetti in the last 4 matches - she had played only one game in her career before the last couple of weeks

A little light at the end of the tunnel for a few teams that hopefully can finish strong I think it's obvious volleyball be will the the team that says good-bye for their coach - she's obviously over her head - most recent loss to a subpar Lafayette team in 3 lopsided sets, and at home, shows the kids have checked out

She was the 2021 Patriot League Coach of the year. Coach of the year for the 2021 Spring Season that Goholycross.com has labeled the 2020 season in the drop down menu of prior schedules? The team was 5-5 in league play and made the PLT during that shortened campaign. Then the bottom dropped out of the program. What happened?
