Time to up the entrance fee for new schools wanting to join PL football. One million to each of the existing seven schools and new entrants must kick off to start both halves their first year of league play.😎

Heard from a friend that he spoke with a Georgetown alumnus who mentioned the beat down Holy Cross gave Yale and that basically HC was getting to strong for the PL. I say great! Just like the Ivies when you beat them consistently they quit and refuse to play you. I believe that if possible we should score heavily during our league play so they "ALL" ask us to leave the league. On to the CAA!!!!

On a related point: While running up the score is one thing, there may be something regarding ‘style points’ at play in rankings-based seeding decisions. And soundly thumping our PL competition, v playing a few PL squeakers, can’t hurt.

And soundly thumping our PL competition, v playing a few PL squeakers, can’t hurt. Sound reasoning! I am not at all a fan of "running up the score" for the sake of running up the score or to get out of the PL, however, I do think that the "style points" argument is quite valid. Style points does not mean running up the score necessarily as well, such as the 2nd or 3rd team allowing a TD late in the game, but a guy like Slade breaking a big run and scoring a TD speaks to the depth and the ability to respond to a score.

When I was AD at Bergen Catholic back in the day there were two big scores that in the minds of some made us look bad. One was 70-0 over St Joseph Regional (now a sports powerhouse). The other was over Teaneck (about 56-7). Neither was a case of running up the score.
The SJR game was at their field so BC dressed fewer players and SJR had several seniors quit the team that week. BC ran on every play (after the first two scores) and used mostly sophs who had not played a varsity minute before that day. Against Teaneck, the starters were only in for 4 offensive plays and scored on each of them. As the coach put it, "when you have a substitute lineman block a punt, pick it up and run over 50 yards for a touchdown, you can't tell me that is running up the score." When second and third team, players finally get a chance to play, I don't see it as running up a score if they do what they have been training all season to do. If that should become a problem for HC, it is one I could certainly tolerate.

Nowhere near that point yet-imho I agree, but we can dream can't we? If there ever was a good time to have such fantasies, this would seem to be it.

Not saying that you believe this but some on the board here think we are going to be "too good" to play in the PL. We aren't going anywhere anytime soon as far as league affiliation is concerned. Even if we get to be a top 10 team at the end of the season; even if we win a national championship; we are NOT leaving the PL. There are too many connections and, more importantly, a belief among TPTB that we are affiliated with "like minded" colleges and universities. As a charter member, we aren't about to leave the PL for football only and stick the league while competing in other sports within the league. Unless we decide to go FBS (which we will never do) like West Point and Annapolis, this whole concept is a non-starter.
We can become a top-tier FCS school that makes more FBS schools willing to play and pay us and some other FCS schools around the country willing to put us on their schedule and give us an opportunity to get our name spread broader. And, as I've said often, "winning begets winning."

Not a question of being too good for the PL- but the opportunity to play better football teams and they happen to have schools committed to academic standing

A current issue is the minimum number of PL football teams Hard to see the PL allowing HC to leave the PL for football only now
