Please forgive my ignorance but what does "FAS" mean? Certainly no worries, RGS. I had to look it up myself. It is a computer ranking poll "Ford AMSTS" and appears as part of the Massey Composite rank.

Nice to be the second best team in the eastGood to have 2 top 25 teams from the PL Wish he had included HC as one of “the risers who have moved up a few spots.” Where were we in this poll last week ? I hadn't thought about the Lambert Cup in a long time. See this chart from Wikipedia Most FCS Lambert Cups

Didn’t see this posted elsewhere, but HC is now 10th in the FCS media poll and 11th in the coaches poll.

Will Harvard, Deans, Borguet, and Murphy be ready for the #10 team in the country? Big target on our backs but Ches will be ready too.

I dare say no one or no poll is justified in moving us up 6-7 slots in the top 25 if they were in attendance on Saturday - I have not analyzed upsets of higher ranked teams last weekend but having watched the game closely I would say we should be remain in the 12-14th position this week - I believe Colgate stinks so I'm not giving them credit as a good team

Colgate did not stink. Ask our offensive line.

I agree with hoops about Colgate. Not only are they a stronger team than some here believe,IMHO they have a real shot at Fordham down the road - as they did last year when they beat them.

What's amazing to me is that our team is so good that we make other teams look bad. (Colgate). Colgate finished second in the PL last year and if you watched the game they have a very stout offensive line and very aggressive defense. They DON'T stink! And as rgs318 states they have a team that could beat Fordham.

Colgate did not stink. Ask our offensive line. Above average defense and one of the worst offenses we will face this year, next to Lafayette. Their defense at all three levels caused us problems. Thankfully, our special teams and defense gave us some really short fields and handed the offense 21 points -- 1) Blocked punt at the end of the first half. Started at Colgate's 20-yard line and led to a TD. 2) Interception by Reynolds at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. Started at Colgate's 29-yard line and led to a TD. 3) Recovered fumbled punt by Coker midway through the 4th quarter. Started at Colgate's 8-yard line and led to a TD. This is what good teams do -- find a way to win when not at their best. A big part of our success under Chesney was how good we have been on special teams and how opportunistic we are on defense. It always seems like we win the turnover battle and a lot of the 50/50 balls bounce are way (don't think that's by coincidence). We are a much better team than Colgate, but the offensive production by both teams was similar. Colgate had five more first downs than we did and we only had 21 more yards of total offense. Here's why we won so handily: Won the turnover battle 3-0 (for the season we are +6 in turnovers) and capitalized on the short fields we were given with three touchdowns.

I'll reconsider my opinion of the 'gate after their game vs. Cornell this weekend - two mediocre teams
