Definitely not a good look. I think it’s more about the independent doctors who are charged with clearing players than the coaching staff. If I’m an NFL coach and the independent doctors evaluate him and say he’s good to play, I’m playing my star QB unless I have reason to believe the independent doctors were improperly influenced or I see or hear something in our facility or on the field that tells me he’s not ready.

One of the problems is that the players and their agents want them to go back too soon, too.

Medical decisions should be made by medical doctors, not by the players and certainly not by agents (God forbid). That is almost as bad as having them made by politicians.
