Question is whether I can get the kids there for 10:00. Maybe.

Question is whether I can get the kids there for 10:00. Maybe. If you and them make it, we want a professional, detailed scouting report if you cannot handle it, pass it down.

Hmmm. So we long time season ticket holders who are of a certain age that don't have Instagram will eventually find out about this in a later communication?
Perhaps not fair for me to "complain" since I'm not going to go anyway as my focus will be on the later football game at Polar Park.

Perhaps not fair for me to "complain" since I'm not going to go anyway as my focus will be on the later football game at Polar Park. I don't have Instagram or any social media platform for that matter. Hell, I don't even have an iphone and somehow I survive. If you open the sports link under the athletics homepage, you will see links to Twitter, Instagram and Facebook next to each sport. They work for me so I assume they will for you as well. That is the source of our comments about Nelson's beard, Batch' headband and new practice unis as well as other potpourri like birthdays, etc. Have fun. Having said that, you and I and other season ticket holders certainly have a right to complain. I would think we would have received an email by now about the open practice.

On principle, not for lack of technical expertise, I refuse to join Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. I am only on LinkedIn because it is ostensibly business related - less so over the years.
I did have an initial Facebook account until my younger sister told me that it was for young people (presumably like her) and I was "too old." I canceled it and never looked back.
To my larger point, unless they are deaf, dumb and blind, anyone in the Athletic Department should know the average age of Holy Cross fans is "too old" for most social media and an email or text message is high tech for us. So, if you want to communicate with your customers. use what they use.
That said, there is a presumed youth movement and I understand using those platforms. Just don't forget whose paying the bills.

Twitter has blocked me and told me I need to change my password. I did change it but I am still blocked. I really don't care except for the occasional video that someone says I should see on Twitter but I can't. I'll live with it since basically I hate twitter.

I just got my email notice of the open practice. So, emails are just a lower priority and likely easier and faster to get the word out on those other platforms.

I did have an initial Facebook account until my younger sister told me that it was for young people (presumably like her) and I was "too old." I canceled it and never looked back. I had both Twitter and FB and was able to connect with countless numbers of acquaintances and old friends from the past. But when those platforms started censoring politics I became concerned. When they started censoring doctors during the pandemic, I deleted my accounts. I always thought getting a second opinion from medical professionals was a smart thing to do when faced with medical issues. I guess the rich eggheads from Silicon Valley think they know more than us and we must think like them! I’ve been out for two years and never looked back, except I must now dig around to get info on HC.

I don't do Twitter or Instagram. I have an Instagram account that I never use. Anyhow, I find there is usually a CROSSPORTer that is more into social media than I am and is willing to let us all know if there's something of interest in one of those platforms

Any idea why we would do the open gym at 10:00 am when there is a football game at 4:00 pm? 4.5 hours between the end of one event and the start of another is a lot of time to kill for anyone coming from out of town and trying to do both.

Duh! Ya think? No maybe about it. Under normal circumstances I would try to do both. But as much fun as Holy Cross and Worcester are, it's too much and my priority is football. Mission accomplished, Brett.

Of course this could be total fiction based on personal bias. Is this Open Gym or Open Practice? The two are pretty different.

or. . .
10:00 is just when Saturday practice happens normally.
or. . .
somebody in athletics set this thing up and wanted to give fans the opportunity to tailgate before the football game
or. . . .
some other innocuous reason
I am not happy with the win/loss record. I wonder if players leaving at a higher rate than most schools is a function of the coach. That being said, I don't immediately assume that Coach Nelson is to blame for every issue, big and small, with HC athletics
