Surprised? I am shocked. I figure them as middle of the pack, unless the Frosh & Sophs are ready to go.

Maybe the coaches and SIDs know something ? Or not

Interesting to see HC picked third with no-one named as an all-star. Must be expected that HC will be a solid TEAM led by a good coach.

I hope Avery left her rebounding manual in the locker room. Perhaps in WBB having a nose for where the ball is after shots is even more important than MBB because there are fewer vacuum cleaner type bigs who can corall caroms before they escape the rim area.
Avery had many rebounds where she was the only one where the ball was, which couldn't have been completely coincidental.

We all know that a college coach needs 4 years in order to be judged in order to have a full roster of his/her players. That’s a given. I read it here on Crossports so it must be true.

It's true on Crossports. The outside world can be harsh.

I bet I know one person who is not over the moon about this preseason poll; Coach M. We lost 50% of our offense and not one of the three returning starters is 6'. Our transfer and frosh must be ranked very high and/or it's an especially weak PL in 22-23.

6' 1" Callie Wright was recruited by Memphis so she was rated high. She should more than replace 6' 0" Davis' production if she's healthy. A healthy Davis had potential but good for the coaches to attain a potential upgrade.

Will not be hard to surpass Davis's production; 18 pts in 17 games.

I hope there was no hint of Davis being run off, but we do seem to be ahead of the game so far in the trade off.

A healthy Davis had potential but good for the coaches to attain a potential upgrade. As Davis basically didn't play the last 2 years due to injury, pretty low bar, I'm guessing you were thinking more along the line of Ezemma rather than Steph.. The junior class is solid (although McCormack is sporting a cast on her left hand), the question is do they get any production out of the Frosh & Sophs. On paper, the frosh class looks really good, but you just don't know if they are physically ready for college. If they can't get meaningful minutes out of Meg, Berger & Wright, middle of the pack is a stretch.

If Wright could replace Ezemma's production, that would be fantastic. I was thinking of a direct comparison between the transfer out and the transfer in, Davis and Wright. That looks like a solid improvement.

Poll seems pretty spot on as polls go in the preseason. League was down last year and is moreso this year. Will cycle up next year. Looks like the voters separated out the teams with clearly the most talent (BU and Lehigh) and then did the harder work of figuring out the 'best of the rest' from there. Lots of play within the second grouping. But the spots for both Bucknell and HC seem fair to me.

SIDs have a vote, right? That makes me think it was 2 SIDs.

Davis was a medical redshirt her freshmen year, so may have at least 3 years of eligibility left, listed as a junior on Longwood's roster.

Hard to predict if Wright will be a big contributor - she did.very little at Memphis and their coaching staff might have miscalculated her potential - but I agree she should be an improvement over Davis - will be very interesting to see how coach M sets her starting lineup with so many question marks with the roster

I'll take a crack at it. Wright Cross Allen BPC Munt. With Munt looking over her shoulder at the Freshman. McCormack in the microwave slot off the bench.
