Apparently Addidas was an athletic footwear supplier to the Nazis and have not dropped Kanye West and the Yeezy line of sneakers after Ye's anti-semetic comments. If the boycott Addidas movement hits college campuses how will that effect Holy Cross?
Oh Ye of little sense. Addidas please drop him before HC teams have to play in their skivvies.

Adidas is a German company and used to own Reebok until 2021.

How about, Holy Cross, give Adidas a week and drop the Adidas contract if they don’t drop Kanye. Then take the Adidas logo off your uniforms until we have something else in place, wear different shoes, and stop selling Adidas swag in the fan shop and bookstore.
It’s a drop in the bucket for Adidas but be a leader here, if could start something bigger. And if not at least we will not have sold out on a core principle for a little cash.

And move to, say, Nike? Numerous cases of human rights violences and sub-standard working conditions have been well-documented over the years. Do we want to be in business with that company? Furthermore, and this will take this thread right down the political hole which is against the rules, but couldn't a case be made that Colin Kaepernick incited violence and rioting during the summer of 2020? His words and actions did a lot, and Nike all but made him the face of their company for a while. Perhaps a move to Boston-based New Balance? It's a tough precedent to set. Now every time someone who is a partner of a brand does something like Kanye did, all companies who do business with said brand should head elsewhere?

Puma has had its early leadership scrutinized for Nazi sympathies. Obviously, Nike and Adidas are boycott-eligible too.

Depending on who you talk to, Holy Cross is boycott eligible. The Bishop of Worcester has been boycotting HC for years. The issue is we're taking money from Adidas for wearing their uniform and in doing so every one of our student athletes are a walking billboards for the Adidas brand, not that we can find a perfect company with whom to do business, but how deep and how smelly is the mud we're standing in. And a side benefit ... Get rid of Adidas and maybe we get rid of the black uniforms.

Boston College is now sporting New Balance for all athletics except football. New Balance operates in their back yard.

Boston College is now sporting New Balance for all athletics except football. New Balance operates in their back yard. And football is adidas. BC backers have been pissing and moaning about the NB contract as they say what middle aged men like to wear doesn't help in their recruiting. Changing the subject from social justice, I wanted to see BCs unis and I came across this article; this fellow's predictions turned out to be delightfully true. saturdayblitz.com/2022/06/24/boston-college-football-hype-has-to-stop-now/

I believe all of the uniform suppliers have the black or gray uni combo as the third option kit. Sacred Hearts third combo is gray. When HC wore the gray combo, people complained about that as well. You may be safe with Champion or Rawlings 🤣🤣 While some here are on a get rid of the black uni kits, my preference is to eliminate the white Long John spandex pants. Watching the game on Saturday, those pants are ill form fitting. They may look good on mannequins, but not on humans playing football. Bring back the silver pants from the Duffner years!!!
Without a doubt, those were kick butt pants.
I understand that HC as well as other schools are limited regarding the kits by the manufacturer current template, so it will not happen until Adidas changes their template for the stripes down the side.

Thank goodness in terms of HC this is now a non-issue.
BTW, adidas' predecessor was indeed a German company started in the 20s by brothers Adi and Rudolph Dassler. Jessie Owens wore their shoes in the 36 Olympics. They ended up bitter enemies and the respective owners of adidas and Puma.

/\ That explains the way your German friends pronounce Adidas.
The wartime activity of the parent company makes Adidas particularly sensitive. To put it mildly. I’m sure they want to cut ties and memory hole this recent issue.

Adidas has severed its relationship with Kanye West. Always follow the money... Actually, according to what I read in the NYT, Adidas will take a $250 million dollar hit from this decision, and immediately stop selling the "Ye" branded shoe he made popular.
