Why would Martin even say something like this. I never liked Martin, and I don't like this kind of comment on our program. |

First, I didn't take this clip as anything other than that HC and his team have minor injuries and so the scrimmage wouldn't be a big thing - for either team. Sort of downplaying the significance of whatever happens during it.
Second, I think this program has had issues for some time no matter what any opposing coach says. It matters not a whit what he has to say. It will neither make us a better or a worse team. My take on his comments: who cares?

Some schools not only get reports from "secret scrimmages" on their boards, but they also get box scores!

They must have wanted to play a very good team on its home court.
This is good preparation for a team that is young, but predicted to be good.
They were missing their top freshman, 7’ Derek Lively

Perhaps indicating coaches enjoy sharing with colleagues they won't face but don't want to publicly release any injury info they aren't required to. |
