Ideally it would be nice if the Patriot League didn't need to go to Dayton to qualify for the round of 64

Cleveland State and Drew Lowder 16 minutes away from the conference final 23 point lead. Announcers now quoting his coach singing his praises, esp as a distributor. To test his character, he had to begin the season as a walk on

Cleveland State holds on for the win and heads to the final vs N. Kentucky which upset top seed Youngstown State.

UMass has scored 25 points in the first 3/4 of their game with Richmond. 46-25 Spiders with 11:00 remaining. BTW, there is a guy on the UMass bench who sure looks like Derek Kellogg.

He came over to Martin's staff after LIU canned him late - I wonder how Martin is feeling about his move to Mass. after this horrid season

He came over to Martin's staff after LIU canned him late - I wonder how Martin is feeling about his move to Mass. after this horrid season I rarely visit the UMass Board but based on my two minute look just now, I would say the bloom is off the rose for Frank Martin. I am guessing it has been for a while. I caught glimpses of games this year and Mullins looked mostly empty.

38 points ?? That cannot be all on Martin. He must have inherited at least most of the roster.

Small world department- Matt McCall, former UMass coach, was the manager of the 2002-03 Florida Gator basketball team, including BN. Only winning season he had at Umass was an abbreviated 8-7 Covid team. Doubt he left Martin very much; of course, that doesn't mean they'll necessarily improve.

Louisville (4-27) closes the half on a 19-6 run to lead BC by 3 at the half.
Go Cardinals!!

That's the only winning team UMass has had period since 2014-15. The Minutemen have an overall A10 record of 46-90 over that same period.

Couple of notes from the Cleveland St loss:
1. The crew calling the game made a point to talk about Lowder and how he worked his way into the starting lineup. how he's been labelled as selfish and that he shoots too much. one of the guys even said that one of Lowder's former coaches called him a loser. Wonder if that was Coach Nelson?
2. Until the final seconds when Cleveland St. just needed shooters on the floor, all the crunch time minutes of that game...where was Lowder? On the bench.

That is possible. Of course, in his travels the "former coach" may not have been from Holy Cross.

5-10 (sound familiar) from the foul line did the Vikings in. Drew contributed a 0-2 to that.
And 17 turnovers offset a 37-29 advantage on the boards.

Watched some of the game but with the sound off. Shocked commentators would say that, I really, really hope the former coach wasn't Coach Nelson or a member of the HC staff. Not the kind of comment that should be made to a reporter. I would call it classless I wouldn't go running to a reporter, but I have a lower opinion of Lowder than his classmates like Pridgen or Wade because he quit on his team mid season. Maybe there was a valid reason I don't know about, but without that information, I'm not a fan of the kid that walked out mid season.

As I said, maybe there is a valid reason, I don't know about. My opinion carries over to this season. Actually have a lower opinion of Wilbar who also walked out on his team in the middle of the game before quitting mid season. I can give Lewis a little more slack. Someone who follows twitter posted in another thread that Lewis had some tweets about athletes and mental health. That's hinting at a potential valid reason

In the first half Lowder was badly beaten to the hoop twice by his man, the ballhandler. He was taken out and sat for a long while

Lowder was an exceptional talent. I was at the tournament game at FAU when Lowder got dinged up with a cheap foul, BN got T’d up as a result, and Lowder did not return. My impression was that Lowder wouldn’t play thru the injury in subsequent games and ended up in the doghouse. At the time Wade’s dad described their relationship as oil and water.

2-7 (0-2), 0-2 FT. Exceptional.

Bona lost; Luc had a 10-6-5 game, pretty good.
Season's stats comparable to his year at HC with the positive exception of his assists nearly doubling.
