Dick had more credibility than our current younger announcers in the sense he grew up going to HC games in the fifties and sixties and had been calling games for New England teams (UNH, BC, Dartmouth)? for decades, had been a sports talk show host on WEEI, WRKO and hosted Red Sox post game shows, etc.
Even his long experience was challenged by Nelson and the 3-29 season.

I still speak w/Dick occasionally, and he misses calling games greatly. He pops in on this forum now & then and still follows HC very much.

• This will be the 84th meeting between Fordham and Holy Cross on the hardwood, the first since 2005. • The Rams lead the all-time series, 42-41, but the Crusaders have taken the past six meetings

Also thanks to Marcus Blossom HC is also likely the only D1 program in the country without FB and BB on local terrestrial radio. This is an interesting point. With the proliferation of D-I teams and the potential that radio is an old person's media, is that true today? Stonehill was brought up, but since they've only been D-I for a couple of months, I'll ignore them. In MA, what about Lowell and Merrimack? Heading south, how about Bryant? Even with more established programs, I kind of wonder. I know BU has their own radio station, but how about Northeastern? They're kind of fourth fiddle in Boston. I don't know if the Huskies are on the radio, but I wouldn't be shocked if they're not. How many radio stations in Boston are going to air college hoops? Same logic might apply down in Hartford. I don't know who is and isn't on the air, but barring campus radio, can I scan the dial on a Saturday and hear UConn, Hartford, and CCSU? Heading closer to Long Island sound, there's not a clear dominant player like UConn, but are Yale, Fairfield, and Sacred Heart all being broadcast on a Saturday afternoon. Heck, the best sports radio station in Bridgeport might be more inclined to broadcast UConn over any of those three? I don't know the answer, but it is an interesting question. And I say that as someone approaching dinosaur status who would normally have a radio outside this Saturday while raking leaves. Actually, I still will, but it won't be tuned into HC-Georgetown. I miss not having that opportunity.

If you want annual games with Fordham & Georgetown join the A10 and leave the PL. You would think two fellow Jesuit Schools HC is in a league with in football would also schedule them in hoops. Maybe I am being naive.

Especially in light of the fact they were kind of pushing Jesuit vs Jesuit games for a while there. Hard to do annually. You might convince BC to do 2 games at BC and one at neutral Centrum. Saves them the expense of a guarantee game. I don't see Georgetown doing a similar 2 for 1 neutral series like that, so an annual thing would be every year in DC. HC is going to do between 1 and 3 guarantee games in a year. Given the state of the program, closer to 1 right now. I don't see locking that guarantee to one school always every year. Mix it up Fordham is a different story. If we have won 6 in a row and haven't played since the Willard era, they dropped us because it was embarrassing for an A-10 school to repeatedly lose to a Patriot League school. Obviously not many schools are afraid of HC right now. I understand that HC is not bargaining from a position of strength and I might be thinking too highly of the HC program. I would love to see HC have an annual home and home with Fordham. I have zero interest in an annual game with Fordham that is in NYC every year. I also have zero interest in two years at Rose and one at the Centrum. A team at the bottom of the PL might have to swallow a 2 for 1 with Fordham with the one at Hart, but I really, really want HC to put the days of consistently being in the bottom of the PL behind them

Why can't we get a basketball coach like Rick Pitino to turn around the program? (Note: he just pulled the grenade pin out and threw it in the middle of the crowd )

(Note: he just pulled the grenade pin out and threw it in the middle of the crowd ) OK - I'll bite It would be like a 2 for 1. We could turn a losing program into a winning program and at the same time turn a clean program into a dirty one

I met Tom Konchalski the same afternoon I met RJ Evans and his parents at the Hoops Hall of Fame Classic, when RJ’s Norwich Free Academy was in the tournament.

Read this whole thread trying to figure out when the games are to no avail so I had to look them up. The service around here has really slowed down.
Sat 7:30 vs Stonehill Mon 7:00 vs Fordham Tuesday 4:00 vs UIC
