Time to hit the road….far and wide…to finalize for the class entering in the fall of 2024. Returning to the NCAA Tournament this year should strengthen HC position in gaining the attention of promising recruits.
Outside of Janie and Simone, will there be another member of the class of 2027 entering in September?

In the PL We won’t face the kind of pressure we did on Friday but I’ve mentioned here before that we could use someone else to handle the ball besides Flanagan - without a backup she will have to remain healthy and avoid foul trouble

Well, McCormack, for her minuses and pluses, did play point when Flanagan was not on the court.

Nova’s Maddy Siegrist scored her 1000th point this season yesterday, one of only 5 players to have accomplished that feat.

Even Army's Kelsey Minato didn't come close to that. She averaged 23.6 ppg for 32 games on 42% shooting from beyond the arc as a senior.

Likely if the do it will be out of the portal. That said, historically, the have rarely carried more that 13 scholarship players which as things stand, they will have next year. Of course, we could lose a player or two to the portal which would change the available slots.

Even Army's Kelsey Minato didn't come close to that. She averaged 23.6 ppg for 32 games on 42% shooting from beyond the arc as a senior. And Minato had the benefit of playing almost 38 minutes per game, even though Army was winning games by 30+ points. Dave Magarity did not make a lot of friends in the many games where he ran up the score. In a number of games, Minato was the only starter on the court for either team in the final minutes.

These unwritten rules in the coaching industry amuse me. Tom Brady played 99% of all offensive plays in games he played in the NFL, even in his mid forties. The job of the other team is to defend against good players and teams. I feel no disdain towards Dave or Maureen Magarity because Kelsey Minato and Avery Labarbera played most of the game. I have a high regard for Father and daughter. The U S. Military Academy is all about honor. I doubt the Administration ever cautioned Dave he was being dishonorable by playing Kelsey too much. I made it into the Hart for Kelsey's last regular season game there. Do you think I was offended by her playing too much? No, I was fascinated by her skill.

I also wonder how the army subs felt, not getting to play even when the team had a 30+ point lead. As far as Avery goes, she played less minutes the Minato, even though she was on a much worse team that rarely had a gigantic lead.

Stanford knocked out at home by #8 Ole Miss.
Other than that, unlike the men, remaining victories yesterday were all by the higher seed.
Iowa had perhaps the most difficulty; Georgia turned it over 3 times in a row down 1 or 2 in the final 2 minutes.

Columbia and Harvard have both won 3 games in the WNIT and meet tmro in NYC in the quarterfinals - proof that Ivy bball is excellent (after Princeton’s showing too)

I have been dying on the vine with the UConn Huskies vs Ohio State. They have looked befuddled all game but have clawed back to down five in the third period. It'll be a heck of a story if the Huskies can come back to win.

UConn will not advance to the Elite Eight for the first time since 2005 and not advance to the final four for the first time since 2007. Wow. Now that's a dynasty. Perhaps a dynasty in decline, but one that won't soon be duplicated.

UConn may well go undefeated next year if they can stay healthy. Paige back, lots of very strong players coming in. Losing Dorka and Lou Lopez-Senechal. Both good players but replaceable. And there is some talk Cameron Brink from Stanford could transfer to Storrs.

That is quite a reach after today’s game, as well as some other bad showings. Ex South Carolina
