I've forgotten because I haven't seen it recently but who was the poster who would constantly refer to Coach Chesney as "Foster Grants" are some such? I guess winning 4 league championships in a row takes the fun out of doing that.

Thanks. I was in the ballpark at least. Now, can you confirm that we haven't seen him called that recently?

So, if it was meant as a compliment, why did you stop? Or have I just not noticed?

We all obviously agree...but it's hard for me to believe that Chesney will be at HC for much longer, much though I hate to even think it. He's starting to get some well deserved national attention and I expect there are numerous FBS schools that will be interested in taking a serious look at him in coming years if he continues to have the success at HC that he's had to date. He is a football coach after all and no doubt would relish the opportunity to move up to the right FBS program, no matter how warm his feelings for HC may be. If his family is as tied to the Worcester community as I've read they are (or were a few years ago), there's always the brethren a mere 40 miles down the Pike in Chestnut Hill who may well come knocking sooner rather than later. There's nothing like moving into a bad football situation and lighting a fire under a flailing program like BC's. After all, that was HC when Chesney arrived and he's shown himself to be a genuine turn-around artist!

You definitely want to extend him an add in a large buyout from the FBS school that’s going to come and potentially hire him away. Win situation where you at least get something out of the deal.

Jack, Are you aware that he signed an extension last year ? I was not, but if given the chance I wouldn’t see the harm in adding a couple years and more $ on the buyout. Thanks for the info!

Jack, Are you aware that he signed an extension last year ? I can't imagine that that contract extension doesn't have an escape clause of some kind. And even if it doesn't, it's hard to force a coach to stay who wants to move on. Sanctity of contract is one thing. The practical consequence of holding an unhappy coach to his contract could well be something else.
