0-0 after 1st period. We had better of it the first 8-10 minutes, then momentum switched to Brown. Currently 2 Crusaders (wearing black unis ) and 2 Browns in penalty box for roughing. A friendly little skirmish. HC needs to get the opening minutes juice going again or they will lose to a beatable Brown.

Down 1-0 after 2. Second period like the first, HC dominating the opening minutes then faded and Brown got momentum and finally scored on a 4-4 with both teams with players in the box. Earlier in the period we had a 2 on 1 break that we couldn't convert.

Just into period 3, Brown scores to make it 2-0. Brown is dominating play this period.

Our goal keeper just made 2 remarkable saves. Don't watch them that often but we don't seem to have much offense and announcer says we haven't gotten a goal in the last 20 power plays. And believe he said it in the beginning of our last PP, so now 0 for 21.

After hittiing the 4;30 mark, the announcer astounded that Riga has pulled the goalie in an apparent effort to break a losing streak.

Now Brown hit w/a penalty. 6 on 4!

This is like watching HC men's basketball. 3-0 Brown on an empty net goal on a turnover.

I was hoping we’d make some real progress this year but, alas, seems not to be the case. I do think we’re very young so maybe we need to be patient. But, there are lots of other HC teams requiring patience so my supply is dwindling.

I wasn’t looking at the Ws this year, but watching to see if we learn how to compete for three periods.
So far I would say maybe, but very inconsistent and like many of our teams hard to watch

Brown improves to 2-6-1 on the year with that win.

Good to know, thanks. They're as bad as UNH.

^ Good to know, thanks. They're as bad as UNH. I thought we were talking about the Brown/HC game between the 56th and 58th PWR teams in the nation. New Hampshire is 46th. We will see how HC can handle a team ahead of them in the PWR on Saturday night.

Well Brown beat PC tonight, and we won in OT with UNH. We stink, and disappointed that we have seemed to have taken a step back from the end of last year. The women’s team seems to be even worse, losing 3-0 after 2 to Franklin Pierce. We went all in for Football, and that has really worked out great. Everything else, hold your nose.

He left for an assistant’s job. No thanks Hah. That guy is the only person in the history of Div 1 Hockey that could actually win at HC -- and did. 3x btw. He also wouldn't come back to HC for all the King's money -- and who could blame him. The clown show now AD at Creighton made his choice for HC Men's Hockey's future. Enjoy the ride...

Blaming Paul Pearl for leaving after HC lied to him is stupid

LOL, I don’t think coaching at this point has a materiel impact on our performance, and that’s why he left. And nothing has changed in that regard since he left, so yeah Riga sucks blah blah blah and Pearl would bring us AHA titles. Good luck with that

Blaming Paul Pearl for leaving after HC lied to him is stupid Bad post on my part. I don’t blame him at all, but he left and nothing has changed to improve the infrastructure at the rink. Same place as I played in 30 years ago as a quasi Div 3 program. And I don’t see any change soon. Riga was a good get as a coach, and he is struggling too. That was my point.

Changes to the rink and design options are being seriously reviewed. Fact!
The question is cost and funding of the various plans now being considered. If you want input into the process, give Kit or Nick a call with how you can help, not just criticize what has not been done because HC had other building priorities than an expanded hockey rink 8 years ago….
Luth IPF, Prior Performance, The Jo Recreation Center, Joyce Contemplative Center, City View Town House Complex, Renovated Track and Field Hockey Turf, Coaching Salaries for Assistant Coaches, etc.
I hope to see the day that Fitton Field is renovated to a modern facility. It will come someday, but renovation to all the dorms should be a priority.

Fair points Crucis and generally agree. Although, there is a wide gulf between reviewing plans and actual implementation. Also, it doesn’t help that 2022 and 2023 will probably be down years for the endowment plus 40 yr high inflation will make even a modest renovation of the areas under the stands extremely expensive. Capex $$$ are very scarce and as you say a ton of other priorities for the school. We have chosen not to prioritize the hockey facility, which was the right decision for the College. But it is also reasonable for potential hockey recruits to notice that as well. And it makes it difficult to get good players that have multiple offers to choose HC over other schools who have prioritized hockey in their Capex plans. So patience with Bill Riga, he is rebuilding a program with at least one arm tied behind his back, starting to get some recruits and next year will be better than this year and same with the following year.
PS kit and nick know what hockey alums think of the rink, unless I am donating 8 figures (which I am not) they don’t want my thoughts on the situation.
